Japanese Cultural Experience set of 3

This was a highlight of our 5 weeks in Japan. My husband and I loved this cultural experience and have recommended it to others. The three ladies sharing their customs were delightful! We learned so much about some of the traditions of Japan. The smiles we left their home with, stayed with us for days. Oh, and how fun was it to wear the traditional Kimonos while learned about their culture. We highly recommend taking the time to do this! And you will love that they took pictures of you during the whole time you were there! Many thanks to our new Japanese friends!

My daughter and I ended up having a private tour on the day we arrived on the cruise ship and had plenty of time to find the location with the directions sent by vendor. The staff was excellent and very personable interacting with us during every stage of the tour. This was one of the best tours that we did in the 11 days that we spent touring Japan.

We arrived a little early so we could wear some kimonos. Then one of the hosts took our photos in the beautiful garden. Then we learned how to prepare matcha and perform a tea ceremony. Then we did some calligraphy. You select which kanji you would like to write/paint and you practice a few times so you can pick your favourite to take home. Then we made some onigiri with our choice of fillings and had some miso soup. The guides were all very friendly and really enthusiastic about sharing their culture with us. The shrine where we had the experience was also beautiful with lovely gardens. This was one of our favourite experiences in Japan
