Helsinki and Suomenlinna Sightseeing Tour

An excellent tour, even in winter. The lunch in the old market area on the water was great. The guide provided a superior commentary.

Overall its a good tour. We had a great friendly and knowledgeable guide Ray. The Oodi Central Library is an interesting place. Suomenlinna is a beautiful island. Wish it is a full day tour so we don’t have to rush going at slower pace to enjoy these places.

Our tour of Helsinki and Suomenlinna with Asthaloy was informative, interesting and fun. Asthaloy took us to many interesting locations throughout Helsinki while giving us all the historical facts of each place. We enjoyed our time with him in Helsinki and Suomenlinna.

Our guide, Asthaloy, provided a most informative and enjoyable 5-hour tour of the Rock Church, the Sibelius Monument and the Suomenlinna Island. Asthaloy is a native of Finland so is very knowledgeable about the country but lived in the USA for a number of years so speaks English very well. He was prompt, polite and helpful. The three sights we visited were well worth seeing and we felt like the amount of time at each stop was adequate. I think we tour a bit slower than some (we’re in our 70s) but Asthaloy adjusted the timing to suit us. Highly recommend the tour and the guide.

Excellent experience. Guide knowledgeable, friendly and flexible for our needs. Van was safe and clean but noise of air conditioning blocked out some of the conversation when she was not using the microphone. Time in the market was good and offerings there of good quality.

Sharma gave us a great 6-hour (!) tour of Helsinki and Suomenlinna. She is very motivated, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. You get the feeling that she's a friend of already many years. We literally saw all Helsinki's highlights.

Hello,I’m from the USA and wanted to book a nice tour when I got to Helsinki. I found this one price was a little high but was under the impression it would be more personal and much more in-depth. Okay book my tour Nov 30th for the Dec 7th. Took the money no problem spot booked. A few hours later receive a direct message saying please respond important message about your Dec 7th tour (hmmm red flags at this point no not yet). I respond and was told the tour didn’t meet minimum passenger requirements. Please pick the 8th or 9th. (still no red flags but should have been more suspicious). Fast forward I pick Sunday Dec 9th tour and set up a pick up spot that they had listed “Hotel Kamp” at 0950 hrs. Okay all good to go right??? I receive a text message on Dec 8th saying Dear costumer your tour guide will pick you up around 0950 hrs at Hotel Kamp have a nice evening your Helsinki Tour Team. I then receive an email saying dress warmly and your tour guide will be holding a sign saying A4. Okay awesome I’ll get the day started early with a nice tour. I arrive in front of Hotel Kamp at 0930 just in case they picked me up early. Nope that’s not the case i text the number they reached me me at on saying I was there at 0956 hrs (no response). I wait there until 1011 and email them back asking if the tour was cancelled. No response. I continue to wait in the pouring rain just wasting my time. I then email them back at 1025 hrs saying I’m only waiting 10 more mins and I’m leaving and considering the tour cancelled. Time ticks away still no response. I leave the pickup point at 1040 to explore on my own. I’m writing this at 1548 and still no response. Shameful look else where.

When looking for tours in Helsinki, there were lots to choose from, so I took a stab at it. This was an excellent choice, as the guide was super-friendly, her information was comprehensive, and we covered some really great parts of Helsinki. If they take you to a little place that smells like cinnamon, get the cinnamon roll. It's delicious. Be prepared to get some walking in on this tour, though. Especially since the fortress doesn't really have any vehicles to drive you around.
