Tour Guide Made the Day Special

This tour was great from start to finish. I loved our tour guide, Luis, because even though we were a small group he spent extra time with us, giving us some insightful details of Tequila and the other places we visited. Since I was traveling alone he made sure i was never left out and I loved how all the towns people knew him, greeted him by name. This tour was amazing, including the town of Tequila but Luis made it extra special. I hope to return to GDL for another tour and ask for him!

I got picked up timely at my hotel and was the only one for this Monday morning tour. I was told The Jose Cuervo distillery was closed because of the pandemic so we went to another one that produces Los Tres Toños tequila. Didn't get to try a freshly distilled undiluted one, but it was ok since I was a little hungover😅. Instead I sampled ones out of commercially available bottles and showed how to properly drink and appreciate tequila. Tour guide was very informative and very passionate about the history of just not the drink, but of the town. Instead of a restaurant he recommended the local mercado to eat at. Had some of the best tacos there. They had a lady making fresh tortillas there as well. The tacos were quesa tacos with birria. They have either the traditional goat meat or beef. Delicious! They dip the tortillas in the consomme before frying them with cheese🤤 I'm mad I didn't try a Cantarito while there though. I'm not sure what you get with the tours that are twice the cost, but I was satisfied with this tour.

Visiting the city of tequila and tequila tasting. Having the chance to explore alone was the most memorable.

Booked the trip the day before. They were on time to pick me up at my hotel then a short drive where we picked up a couple and went to their office where we relaxed, had a drink and waited about 15 minutes to leave. All Covid precautions taken on the van and the entire trip. The driver was quick, safe and efficient. Diego, our guide provided great information and was very knowledgeable. I recommend this tour.

The plant was closed for cleaning and maintenence, so all we got was a walkthru with a Jose Cuervo guide, did not get to see any of the process or actual making of the tequila, I could have seen better on a Utube. The movie shown at the begining was a total commercial of the company and its owners, no actual information on the product. The Tour company should have done its basic homework to make sure the plant was working before driving us all the way and leaving us there for 3 hours, with nothing to do, as the driver and guide left. The Tequila museum recommended was all in spanish, which the tour guide was unawere of, so that was another let down. A waste of my money and time!!! Would hope the company will refund for not delivering.

Our Tequila tour was informative, entertaining and tasty. Our guide Bernice was a wealth of information, not only about Tequila and it’s history but also Guadalajara. We were able to see and learn what a Jimador does to plant and prepare the agave for processing to make tequila. The José Cuervo distillery tour and tasting was a first class operation and would highly recommend enjoying the tour if you are in the area.
