Departure Time

9:00 AM
Begin your day with morning pickup at your Guadalajara hotel. In comfortable tour vehicle, relax and enjoy the scenery on the drive to Jalisco’s township of Teuchitlán.

Once you arrive at Guachimontones, follow your guide on a tour of the main sites. This landmark was just discovered in the early 1970s, so not much is known about its construction or history. The Teuchitlan had its peak between 200 and 400 BC, and the site is characterized by its unusual architectonic style with circular patios and conical stepped underpinnings. Walk through the Great Guachi, the Iguana, the Central Altar of Azquelite, the Ball Games, and the chinampas.

Entrance to the museum is included, where you can see a video explaining the civilization.

Stop at a local restaurant for lunch (own expense) where you can opt to try a regional specialty: frog legs. Return to Guadalajara for drop-off.
