Itinerary
Stop At:
The Alhambra
Your friendly local guide will pick you up from your Granada hotel by air-conditioned minibus and then whisk you away to La Sabica Hill to visit its most dramatic monument – Alhambra. Perched high on the hill overlooking the city, the incredible palace complex was first built as a fortress at the start of the 13th century. Successions of Spanish rulers made Alhambra their home, and the fortress grew into a medina (little hilltop city) with numerous palaces and lavish gardens. Skip past the long entrance lines with your priority access ticket and walk around inside with your guide, hearing all the history of this fascinating site. Now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Alhambra is a treasure trove of Moorish architecture and you’ll see several of its wonders as you tour its highlights. Admire decadent rooms inside the Nasrid Palaces like the Hall of Ambassadors (Salón de los Embajadores) and Myrtle Courtyard (Patio of los Arrayanes), and marvel at the architecture of Pedro Machuca at the Palace of Charles V. Step inside the Hall of Abencerrajes to gaze up at its star-shaped domed ceiling, and hear the tale of the massacre that took place here during a 15th century banquet. You’ll also see Alhambra’s Royal Baths; plainly decorated, not ornate, in line with the belief that bathing was a religious requirement not a luxury. After exploring the palaces, head to the Generalife Gardens to discover where the sultans and Moorish kings of bygone days once relaxed. Featuring abundant flora and distinctive water features, the gardens also comprise two further courtyards, which you’ll see, the Patio de la Acequia and the Patio de la Sultana. At the end of your 2.5-hour Alhambra tour, your guide will drop you back at your Granada hotel by minibus.

Good Professional Tour

We joined the morning tour on 9 March( Monday). The guide was conducted in both Spanish and English through headphones which worked well. We were the only two among the some 30 group members who needed English guide service but our very knowledgeable and lively guide Sergio (hope we got the name right) took really good care of us. He made us feel we had a private tour sometimes ;). As we booked last minute we had to call the company direct to get the pick up details. But they sent us an email to confirm everything right afterwards. The tour was very well organised. We visited all major spots within the Alhambra without feeling rushed. Granavision is professional and trustworthy. Will gladly recommend it to other visitors.

Guide for this tour was top notch, very informative, we had amasing time in Alhambra. One negative thing that company itself was very unresponsive, i sent them an email two days ago asking about meeting point and time and did not receive any responses, as our tour was on monday i called them on sunday as soon as i get to Granada, the office was closed, i paid money for the service so please follow day or two before with meeting info, why i have to call them, we had another tours in Spain and companies sent even text to confirm that we have all info for the next day tour, so only this negativity toward tour company, but guide was super good.

Amazing day, Amazing Guide

Visiting the Alhambra was perhaps our top tourist priority in 6 weeks in Spain - and it did not disappoint. This tour lasted 3.5 hours and was very thorough - we got to see everything we wanted to see. Emilio is an Amazing guide - so knowledgeable and easy going. His energy level and enthusiasm was strong even at the end. We learned a lot. His pacing was excellent. As some in our group began to tire a bit, Emilio moved us at a pace that was great for us - letting big groups pass so that we could linger and more properly enjoy the spaces. Very Strongly recommend

Wait in Line!

I paid for four adults to take a tour in ENGLISH. Not only did we wait in line for adults to figure out the process....then in line to enter the grounds, only to discover that our 3 hour tour in ENGLISH was actually going to be in French also. Which meant for and hour and a half we heard the tour in English and for an hour and a half we heard it in French while we stood around. Basically we got an hour and a half not very good tour with an Italian guide who was as enthusiastic as a wet noodle. Total waste of time and money. I am done using Viator around the world.

Good morning! From Granavision Our apologize but we pre-advise to our customers sometimes because due the ticketing condintions we have to organize the same group in two differents languages but the hard work is always for our official guide, who has to speak all the time un both languages. But your family and you visited the entore Alhambra. We can´t evite the lines inside the complex because all the people who booked the ticket for a group or to visit the alhambra with the individual tickets have to check it at the differentes controls inside the Alhambra. Best Regards!

A misrepresentation

I was expecting a private tour like I had last spring, instead I found my self and my daughter in a very large group of people, some of which vere english speeking and other german speeking. The guide was managing both languages very poorly and most of the information was prerecorded; furthermore he was in a hurry and I know we skipped some interesting parts of the Generalife (Ihave been in the Alhambra a number of times). We woud have been much better of with a regular entrance ticket and the excellent recorded explanation proividend by the Alhambra foundation. I should add that we had to wait our turn like any other tourist.

Jorge was a fabulous guide!! Not only was he dynamic and humorous, he had so much valuable information to share with us. As an English / French tour, Jorge did a great job quickly translating what he was saying!

Excellent tour which in a great part was due to our guide Victor. His depth of knowledge and approach turned the tour into something to remember. Would thoroughly recommend this tour especially after seeing the length of the queues.

Tour Cut Short and Guide Rambled
foxjandj
, Oct 2019
For various reasons, the group did not reach the Palace entry time on time (10:45 instead of 10:30) and then half of the group with same tour guide had an entry time of 11:00. That meant the whole tour was delayed another 15 minutes cutting short what we could see for the rest of the tour. The guide also rambled on several topics that were not really pertinent.
