Disembark your cruise ship at Malaga port then climb aboard a comfortable, air-conditioned minivan to begin the scenic 2-hour journey to Granada. Ascend the incline of Sabikah Hill to reach the vertiginous perch of the palace, and admire the rose-tinted walls before venturing within.

Glide past long lines with your priority access pass, and follow your guide on an enriching journey through lavish palatial suites and courtyards replete with elaborate arches and verdant gardens. Learn about the origin of the former 9th-century fortress, and see the architectural tableau of Islamic and Renaissance styles.

Marvel at the extravagant beauty of the Nasrid palaces, note the stylistic contrast of the Palace of Charles V, and awaken your senses to the smells and sights of the Generalife Gardens as you wander amid exotic flowers and distinctive water features.

Time permitting, venture to the historical heart of Granada for a walking tour. Enjoy some relaxed free time to explore independently, choosing to sample local specialties in a restaurant or peruse shops for special souvenirs (own expense).

At a time prearranged with your guide, return to the minivan and arrive in Malaga well in advance of your cruise ship’s departure.

Terrific tour

On the long bus ride, we got a lot of information about the area and it’s history. Alhambra was fantastic. Even though it was fairly crowded, we got to spend as much time as we needed. The palace and summer home were beautiful. We liked this much more than Alcazar which was extremely crowded and much the same as Alhambra.

The shore excursion delivered what was promised. The Alhambra palaces and gardens were breathtakingly beautiful. We were blessed with great weather for the visit and never felt rushed. The local guide was good and the pacing of the tour was excellent. The free time in Granada was nice too. We highly recommend this excursion.

The Alhambra is so beautiful and our tour guide was wonderful! We took a bus from the cruise port with around 30 people. The tour guide on the bus was very informative and entertaining. We were separated into smaller groups once we arrived at the Alhambra, which was great! We also got to spend time in Granada on our own to shop, have tapas and a drink. The Alhambra is a once in a lifetime experience and worth the visit.

we enjoyed our guided tour very much. Be aware that the tour is tough folks using walkers or even canes....many stairs an uneven pavement..... Wish we had tie for souvenir shopping Such a beautiful place with fabulous gardens Good bus trip from the port of Malaga

The Alhambra is huge with many rooms full of delicate designs. It is truly a masterpiece. Our guide was excellent. She was articulate, knowledgable and the pace was perfect. This tour is specifically for those arriving by cruise ship to Malaga and includes transportation to Alhambra. Those that booked an "Alhambra" tour through the ship's excursions were disappointed because they did not get to enter the site. On this tour we saw very room and garden within the compound. Book well in advance as tickets are limited.

Alhambra and Granada tour

Excellent tor - very interesting, Alhambra and its gardens are very beautiful and well worth the visit. Only slight negative was that we would have liked a little more time in Granada - by the time we were able to get something to eat we had to board the bus. Understand that is as much a function of what time the cruise ship sails but maybe some sort of box lunch that you eat while on the bus which would then give a bit more time to sightsee.

I really had no idea what I was in for on this tour. The palace and grounds were just amazing! Margarita was an excellent guide, very knowledgeable and nice. Our bus guide Rafael was hysterical. He also was very knowledgeable and told great jokes. Definitely a worthwhile excursion.

This trip was a highlight of our cruise. The bus ride was long but very comfortable. Our guide filled the time with much information about the area. Our group of 41 was divided into 3 small groups when we arrived and our guide was Danny who did an exceptional job. We did a lot of walking but had time to see the buildings and gardens with history and culture well explained. We had an hour and a half down town on our own for food and site seeing. We found the trip well organized and would not hesitate to advise others to let Viator handle their tour to Alhambra.
