Returns to original departure point
After early morning pickup from your hotel in Surfers Paradise or Broadbeach, head to the Broadwater Tourist Park to meet your guide.

Receive a safety briefing, paddling instruction and all necessary gear, then launch your kayak into the calm waters of the Broadwater channel. Paddle to two nearby islands, keeping an eye out for turtles, fish, dolphins and stingrays along the way. Pelicans and sea eagles soar through the air, and if you visit between May and November, you might get lucky and see migrating humpback whales.

Step out of your kayak on the beach and enjoy a delicious picnic breakfast. Have some time to snorkel at Wavebreak Island with the provided snorkel gear. At South Stradbroke Island, you can take a walk on the renowned surfing beach and look for wild golden wallabies — native to this island and not found anywhere else in Australia.

At the end of your half-day kayak tour, your guide leads you back to the mainland where your tour ends.

We had an absolute blast at the tour! The guides were helpful and had a great attitude. Can be a little tiring so i'd recommend planning a light day after the tour.

So much fun! Our favourite bit was seeing the dolphins and snorkelling ❤️ The mentors were great, very helpful, and fun.

Sadly we saw no fish....

The tour guides were absolutely amazing but we just didn’t get what we thought we would. They were super nice about everything but when it came to the snorkelling, the water was so sandy and misty we literally couldn’t see anything, not even our own bodies. The water was not clear at all, i understand thats not the tour guides fault, but me and my family personally did not get the most out of it, we preferred going for a walk than the actual snorkelling. Kayaking was fun but tiring (thats obvious though). All round we didn’t see a single fish as the water was sandy, and the area we were in was also very shallow. Good for first timers but, like me, not so good for people with higher expectations for the price

Low key way to view the Gold Coast from the water

Nice low key way to explore Wave Break and South Stradbroke islands and view the Gold Coast from the water. Guides were really nice and looked after everyone. Great for all ages. Start time indicated 7am on website but really not on the water until about 8am. Breakfast was very limited so wise to eat before or take something with you. Would suggest everyone takes water, sunscreen and mosquito repellent!

Half Day Island Kayaking and Snorkeling Tour

Had a really nice time on this tour, the guide was friendly and knew a lot about the area and when snorkeling and kayaking, provided us with very helpful tips. we were only able to head to wave break island due to high winds and rough currents, but was still a fun adventure. it was a bit disappointing that it states 'half day' when we were picked up around 7.15am and were back before 11, however the tour guide suggested we head back due to the strong currents. regardless, it was a great adventure and is great for couples.

We booked a Christmas adventure with my 76yr old father and 9 and 8 year old children as the website says its completely safe for all age groups. Trip over to sth stradbroke was great, however the trip back could very easily have ended in tragedy due to the guides unwise decisions. We are fully aware that nobody can predict weather however the timing of the trip should have taken the outgoing tide into consideration. We were all inexperienced, paddling furiously against wind and a strong outgoing tide. My elderly father was paddling so hard he was visibly exhausted - and he was getting nowhere. I was anxiously watching this, doing the same thing with my daughter in my kayak who was so distressed, shaking and crying.I made the decision to stop paddling and thankfully was able to guid our kayak back into the beach. Everyone on the tour eventually made it back to the starting point, most were shaken up about the ordeal. 2 ladies had capsized on oyster covered rocks. Only one guide was nearby, but it was my husband who helped the ladies get their kayak back to shore and help them back in.The only option left was to drag our heavy kayaks over a small hill and along a sand trail to the other side. This was absolutely exhausting giben our scary paddling ordeal. I was honestly fearful for my father's health with so much physical exertion. The next step was to paddle along the shoreline back to the mainland. This was difficult and unpleasant due to the wind continuously blowing us into the sand. It was easier to walk and drag the kayak in the shallow water. My husband realised my father's kayak was the only one missing a seat - he had been paddling without any back support. He also had a less than effective paddle. My husband swapped kayaks and paddles with my father, but we were just about finished by this stage. We contacted the owner Steve and politely expressed our concerns, and that it was irresponsible for the tour to have even been attempted. Steve admitted it had been a difficult trip and offered our family a 2hr SUP or kayak hire as a consolation - which we didn't feel was at all acceptable and are not very excited to do more kayaking - however we accepted this offer, but to date we have not received the vouchers or heard back from Steve. We are so very grateful that nobody was injured, however very disappointed in the management of the tour, consideration of guests, poor decisions made and dismissal of our concerns when raised with Steve.

Highly recommended! Fun trip with a good guide too. But Kayaking is hard than I expected, does need a bit arm power.
