Returns to original departure point
Meet your guide bright and early in central Glasgow for your full-day tour. Grab a comfortable seat in a top of the range, 16-seat Mercedes mini-coach for the northbound ride toward the Glencoe, a glen of breathtaking beauty that boasts high mountain peaks, ridges, bubbling rivers, and waterfalls. Along the way, pass the ‘bonnie, bonnie’ banks of Loch Lomond for some stunning views of Scotland’s largest loch.

In Glencoe, enjoy a scenic stroll to stretch your legs, and learn about the historic MacDonald clan that resided here and suffered in the brutal massacre of 1692. Afterward, hop back in the coach to continue your journey through Great Glen and past Fort William, a key military post during the 18th-century Jacobite Rebellions.

Sidle up to the banks of Loch Ness, where the tour breaks for some free time. Explore Fort Augustus, grab some lunch or take an hour-long cruise on the loch for a chance spotting of the famous Loch Ness monster (all activities at own expense).

After your lunch-time break, continue back toward Inverness and wind through Cairngorms National Park. Catch lovely views of peaks and waterfalls, and hear about the series Monarch of the Glen that was filmed here. Head over Drummochter Summit and soon arrive at the charming Victorian town of Pitlochry, where you have free time to explore before heading to Perthshire.

From here, begin your return trip to Glasgow, passing Stirling Castle on the way. Snap some photos of the historic site—former residence of Scottish royals including Mary, Queen of Scots—and learn about its colorful history, riddled with warfare such as the Battle of Stirling Bridge led by William Wallace.

Then relax for the return ride to Glasgow, where your trip ends back at the starting point in the late evening.

Excellent tour guide, very informative and engaging. If you’re interested in getting a taste of some of the Scottish highlands and natural/scenic viewpoints, you’d enjoy the tour. Keep in mind the majority of it is on a bus but the guide was really good

Amazing Highlands and Loch Ness Tour

This day tour is excellent! Absolutely breathtaking scenery, lovely driver/guide and a comfortable little coach. It seems like they have added some more stops (e.g Three Sisters, highland cows, a summit, and some more). However, some non-native speakers might have difficulties to understand the guide speaking with a Scottish accent. Anyway, it is more than worthwhile joining this day tour!

Amazing tour. The tour guide Jenny was the best, I’ve taken quite a few tours around the world and she was the best. Great knowledge of the area, music to put the history and landscape into reference. The drive was long but we stopped at really cool places along the way. A nice length of time at stops and amazing scenery. This was a dream trip.

Excellent Tour by Rabbie's

Like the other tours offered by Rabbie's, this trip was an incredible experience for my friend and I during our visit to Scotland in March of 2020. The guide was personable, charismatic, knowledgeable, and exceptionally entertaining. But perhaps most striking was the amount of ground we were able to cover in one day. By booking this tour, we saw most of the major highlights in the Scottish Highlands, including the mysterious Loch Ness. This is a long day of bus riding, but it is well worth it, particularly if you are only going to make one trip into the Highlands during your stay in Scotland and so need to see as much as possible.

We had a wonderful afternoon with amazing weather. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly and made the long trip entertaining. I wish we would have had more time at the stops along the way, especially in Inverness but understand we were there at a time when daylight was limited so we had to make our way through. Overall it was a great day and I would absolutely recommend.
