Departure Time

9:00 AM
Your Glasgow shore excursion begins with morning pickup from Greenock Port. Meet your guide and board the air-conditioned coach for a short ride through the rugged Scottish countryside to Stirling.

Your first stop is Stirling Castle, a critical medieval stronghold and former residence of Scottish royals including Mary, Queen of Scots. With your free time here, stroll the grounds and snap photos, or purchase an optional interior tour and see some of the spectacular rooms including the Great Hall and James V’s Palace. Learn about the site’s colorful history riddled with battles such as the Battle of Stirling Bridge, led by the legendary William Wallace. Then continue to Doune Castle for another unique photo opportunity.

Afterwards, head into the wild country, coursing though rolling hills and green pastures to Kilmahog at the edge of Trossachs National Park. As your coach travels through the Highlands, admire the natural and cultural sights like ‘wee hairy coos’ (cattle) with long, thick coats set against a breathtaking backdrop.

Your expert guide will narrate the journey through Trossachs National Park, giving historical context to the present-day surroundings like the sweet village of Aberfoyle nestled in the forest. Explore the town and grab some lunch (own expense) before heading to Loch Lomond, the last stop on your trip. Stroll on the banks of this tranquil lake and buy yourself a nip of local whisky.

Your full-day trip concludes with return service to Greenock port, arriving by evening.

what a waste

Stirling Castle was nice, but could have used at least another hour or two. Could have got that from the hour we wasted at lock lomand or Trossachs. Or even the hairy cows and shop we stoped at. 3 hours wasted. The booking talked about William Wallis, which was so loved, his monument was huge, as they pointed it out as we drove by, WHY, WHY, WHY???? and could have climbed the tower and seen his 6' sword!!! Would have traded 1 hour there for the 3 hours we wasted at Loch Lomand, Trossachs, and the hairy cows souvenir shop.

Rain didn't stop our Parade

The continual Scottish rain and wind did not dampen the beauty of the Scottish countryside and Stirling Castle, and the enthusiasm of our driver-guide, who was generous in sharing his knowledge of Scottish history and geography.

Good tour, with one exception

Our guide was Eric. Entertaining and knowledgeable. Ran a tight ship and kept the group moving. Hit all the promised spots. Stirling Castle was especially impressive with a tour by castle staff. Central to Scottish history for hundreds of years. However, toward the end we hit traffic and Eric was not sure if we would have time to make it to Lock Lomond. He took some short cuts, driving through beautiful country, and assured us we would have time. I was stunned when we pulled up to a small, modern shopping center, Loch Lomond Shores Mall. I could not even see the lake. As I walked around the corner of the mall, I found an aquarium and childrenʻs activities. This was all at one end of the loch and I could see it extend, quite beautifully, into the distance. But, we were in a tourist trap. I finally got over my surprise enough to take some video so I would know this was real. Was the driver getting a kickback to take us to this shopping area? No one on the tour with whom I spoke thought this stop was a good one. Eliminate this stop and I would give the tour 5 stars.

This was a fabulous tour and our first stop in scenic Scotland. The scenery to each site was stunning and the information and commentary provided by our guide Stephen was exceptional. Stirling Castle is well worth a visit and was one of our favourite stops during our 2 week holidays. We had high expectations of Scotland and this tour and our friendly knowledgeable guide helped to exceed our expectations.

Great Castle! Rainy day for Loch Lomond:(

The Castle was great but needed more time there as lots to see. Our Guide, Daniel was very nice and knowledgeable. We stopped at a small town for lunch but was disappointed with his suggestion. He should have given us more information and choices. Unfortunately we had a very rainy day so the visit to Loch Lomond was disappointing. Turned out to be just a bland shopping stop. Maybe the tour should have had another option for bad weather.

The Tour guide and Driver were fantastic. We wished we could have had some time in Glasgow or at least a panoramic tour of the city. Loch Lomond and the Trossachs were not very good attractions for us. Not much to see or do, just a shopping stop, that's why only 4 *s.

This tour was very good. We were met at the port gate after disembarking from Crown Princess. David and James were very good and very entertaining and made everything as comfortable as possible since it was raining when we had this tour. I would recommend this tour.

Stirling Castle is worth the visit even there was shower in the morning when we arrived. Loch Lomond is beauty although we were only able to stay at a specific spot of the Loch due to time constraint.
