I came to Florence after hearing such great things from my coworkers about the beautiful art, history, and food culture. With a recommendation to see the David, I found this tour. I arrived to the meetup point, which was easy to find. A few tour staffers provided headsets for us to hear our guide as the places we would visit tended to be on the noisier side. In hindsight, this was a wonderful touch because I underestimated exactly how busy some of our stops would be. Angelo Alterio, our guide, took us through Florence to many popular places before we stopped at the Galleria dell’Accademia, which houses the statue of David. Getting into the museum was a breeze with our skip the line tickets. I went in October and the line was still halfway down the street! Once we were in, Angelo provided a very thorough background of the historical period in which Michelangelo carved the David as a way to give us the necessary context for why the statue was/is so important. It was breathtaking. After our stop there, we visited other Florentine highlights. I learned so much and each place was equally instagrammable. Upon completion of the tour, Angelo chatted with us about the city and even offered suggestions for places to eat that were less touristy. What a gem. He is great! Recommend for anyone who wants to get a full view of Florence in a few hours. This really helped me figure out where I wanted to spend lots of time for the rest of my vacation.
Our guide was very fun and extremely knowledgeable about Michelangelo and his life and artwork, making it a very enjoyable trip. The David is a remarkably impressive sculpture and almost does not look real when you are up close. However, Michelangelo's other pieces of work, such as the "prisoners" are very interesting to examine as well. The tour of the city itself, including the Duomo and some larger buildings was also quite interesting. I would recommend this to any history buffs or to anyone who is just interested in learning more about Florence's past and artwork/architecture.

Informative tour worth your time. It was only 4 stars for us because it was a bit too detailed and a bit too long. There was a lot of information about other items of interest that we found excessive but this tour could be perfect for you. The guide was easy to understand and it is a very good tour.
Our guide was excellent I think if you just walked into the Museum and saw David without a guide you would miss so much. The guide explained how to view David from distance and why you should then as we got closer explained the incredible detail of the sculpture.
I see David at every opportunity, and combined with the walking tour...it is a great way to get your bearings in Florence. Our tour guide was a wonderful, lively young woman, (I'm sorry I forgot her name)
She went beyond the pale to deliver the reveal of David in its historical context, and generate an amount of veneration for this work of art. Her stories and colour commentary while walking the streets of Florence were funny, enlightening and important. I loved this tour!
