Overview

Pay homage to one of Tuscany's great minds with this 5-hour trip to the birthplace of Leonardo da Vinci from Florence. Visit a museum in Leonardo's former house in Anchiano and the Leonardiano Museum in Vinci. End the tour with a wine tasting and light lunch in a Tuscan farmhouse.
  • 5-hour trip to see the birthplace of Leonardo da Vinci from Florence
  • See the house where Leonardo da Vinci was born, now a museum
  • Receive a 'greeting' at the museum from a hologram of the genius himself
  • Visit nearby Vinci to see another museum featuring Leonardo's machines
  • Enjoy a wine tasting and light lunch at the end of the tour
Depart from your centrally-located Florence hotel in a comfortable van and travel through the Tuscan countryside.

Stop first in Anchiano, where Leonardo was born, to visit the museum established inside his first home. A hologram of the Renaissance genius welcomes visitors to the museum, sharing stories from his life and of his works.

Travel next to the Leonardiano Museum in the town of Vinci, which features many models of machines Leonardo designed. Finally, make your way to a country farmhouse for a wine tasting and lunch.

Great experience

We were in Florence for one week and decided to book this day trip. We met the tour guide Mirko in the city center, and were just the two of us. We were very lucky, like having a private tour. The da Vinci museum has extensive examples of his work. The drive through Tuscany was beautiful, and the lunch more than light - great wine, nice country venue. Mirko was quite knowledgeable and helpful - taking into account our age, I am 82.

This was absolutely the highlight of...

This was absolutely the highlight of our trip to Florence. Our guide, Luciana, was fantastic. We were picked up just down the street from our hotel as promised. Everything was perfect. The meal at the villa, which was formerly the hunting lodge of the Medici family, was delicious and we tasted the various wines that are made on the premises. The tour of the wine cellar and olive oil cellar was informative as well. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable about Leonardo's life and shared many interesting facts. The visit to his home was also enjoyable as were the trips to the museum. Overall, the best guided tour I have ever taken anywhere!
