Greve in Chianti
A comprehensive experience in one of the most fascinating areas of Tuscany, known all over the world for its wine and its charming countryside, where woods alternate with vineyards and olive groves, in a landscape dotted with Romanesque parish churches, farmhouses, villas and castles of rare beauty. First stop in the Florentine Chianti Classico, in a small cozy Winery. Here, guided by the owner, you will discover the secrets of winemaking and enjoy a delicious tasting of the best wines produced, accompanied by local products. The tour includes later the medieval village of Greve, where you will have free time to admire the famous main square of the ancient "market" with its characteristic arcades and the local artisan shops.
Through "Via Chiantigiana", you will then reach a family-run Winery, which stands out for the excellent quality of its wines and after the guided tour of the cellars and the lovely aromatic garden, a delicious tasting of four different wines and local products will be waiting for you. The last stop of the Tour is Castellina, a fortified hilltop village of Etruscan origin, among the most lively and picturesque of Chianti, characterized by an imposing fortress.
This wine tour was a great time and the tour guide was very informative. We toured two vineyards, tasted several wines and sampled bread, cheese and meats. We also had an in between stop in the local village where we were able to shop around and grab some lunch (lunch not included, only samples and tastes). Poggio Amorelli was our favorite vineyard, the wine pours were generous, food was tasty and the host was a character. IG @lovelyjeanettey

I booked this tour because my mom wanted to see the Tuscan countryside and we got so much more! This was an amazing way to spend an afternoon. We went to two wineries and learned all about what makes Chianti - Chianti. Learned about Balsamic Vinegar and Olive Oil. Most importantly drank some of the most delicious wine and made some new friends!

My daughter and I had so much fun on this tour. We loved our guide, Elena, and her quirky sense of humor. She explained all about Chianti country and the different kinds of wines, and even pointed out the interesting sights during our bus ride.
Both vineyards we visited were very scenic and the presenters informative. We sampled 3 or 4 wines as well as olive oil at each. The samples were small but reasonable, so you shouldn't get drunk off them. Our only real criticism was that the meat and cheese snacks provided were too sparse for our large group. Luckily, we ordered the medium meat and cheese platter from the butcher shop in Greve, which turned out to be one of our most memorable meals in Italy.
Both vineyards rely on direct purchases and will ship to your home. The first was very reasonably priced, the second offered more premium priced products. All of them were very good in our opinion.
If your plan is to get drunk, you probably either want one of the more expensive wine tours, or supplement your intake in Greve. If you're looking for a fabulous afternoon of wine tasting, scenery, and fun, I highly recommend this tour.
The tour guide and the driver were kind and knowledgeable. However the tour was less than desirable. We were rushed through the wineries and the town. The majority of the excursion is spent on the bus. At the final winery, the host did not allow us to take in the view and no guest was permitted to speak for the entire tasting. Overall we would not recommend.
If I could spend everyday doing the Wine Tour I would without a doubt. This was the highlight of my Italian trip and if I could spend just a week alone in the Chianti region I could die happy. Each winery was beautiful with amazing products and as an added bonus we spent about an hour in a lovely nearby small town. The transportation was wonderful and our tour guide was full of helpful information. 10/10 would fly across the country this minute to do this tour again.
This was an enjoyable tour around two vineyards, and two villages, in the beautiful countryside of Tuscany. The wine at the first vineyard was just okay, and you didn't get much to sample. The wine at the second vineyard was better, and you got more wine, and food, plus we had time to buy a couple of glasses after the tour of the vineyard. The stops in the villages were a little rushed, with not much time to spend in either.
The tour was well led by Keiko, who kept an interesting running commentary going, of what we were seeing along the way.

Beautiful landscapes, interesting stops that could be much better enjoyed

The tour itself is good but superficial. The stops are interesting, but they could explore each location further, for example, in the vineyards, a sequence between the casks, talking about the process, visiting the vineyard itself, tasting a grape and ending with a tasting.
The first tasting was ok, without much information, the second really was a class, given by Mr. Lorenzo, very cool. The portions themselves were extremely simple (ok, it was a tasting). We had a little problem as we bought a tour in Spanish and a guide spoken only in English. It did not compromised the ride but to in some way it was uncomfortable, but it was a good guide, full of stories and tuned humor.
