Meet your guide in central Dublin and settle into your seats for a thrilling drive through the Wicklow Mountains. Admire the patchwork of lush farmlands, forests, and lakes as you wind along the scenic country lanes and climb through the hills of Wicklow. Jump out to discover Glendalough, the picturesque ‘Valley of Two Lakes’, and follow your guide to the most stunning lookout points. Along the way, learn about Glendalough’s significance as an early Christian settlement and stop to explore the 6th-century monastic ruins, which rank among the oldest in Ireland.

Back on the bus, continue your journey along the dramatic mountain pass of Wicklow Gap, where you have a chance to hop out and take photos. Finally, arrive in Kilkenny, Ireland’s medieval capital, where you can take in the highlights on a guided walking tour. After marveling over landmarks like Kilkenny Castle, St. Canice's Cathedral, and Rothe House, enjoy free time to continue sightseeing independently, shop for souvenirs or tuck into lunch (own expense) at one of the many pubs and restaurants.

Brian, our guide was brilliant. Great historic knowledge and sense of humour. Similarly our drive (sorry forgot his name) was great. We felt 100% safe throughout the journey even in very wet circumstances at times

Lia and Peter were so sweet and happy with everybody. Especially Lia, our guide, that explained us everything during the day, full of positive energy and always smiling. The tour was great although I don’t recommend to visit both places in the same day because you spend more time in the bus than visiting the places. You could perfectly spend the whole day in Wicklow hiking and go go Kilkenny another day.

Patrick and Brin were fabulous! Patrick was extremely friendly and had a wealth of knowledge that kept me entertained and informed. And his talent of remembering everyone’s name made it very inclusive.

Wonderful Trip & Fantastic Guide

This is a great day trip from Dublin. With an 8:45am departure, & an on time 6pm return, the day was full with plenty of evening time left for music, pubs etc. Our guide Derek was very knowledgeable, interesting, & fun. He followed through with several of us who had individual questions & needs. We felt he genuinely cared that everyone would have their best experience while on the trip. He chose good Irish music while we road along. It was never overwhelming or too much. Our driver was also great. The tour had a nice variety. In Kilkenny we had our choice of how we’d spend our time for approximately 2 1/2 hours. I’d recommend this trip to anyone who wants to see several lovely countryside areas, plus the old walled city of Kilkenny. If you’re lucky enough to get Derek for your guide, you are in for a treat.
