This tour was our favorite part of visiting Dublin. mountains are gorgeous and not too far away! Our guide shared a lot about Irish life with us which we lived hearing and the history behind Glendalough is fascinating. Definitely go on this quick half day trip.

We went on a weekday afternoon, not a very large group. Driver was very nice and giving information about different places. He even did a quick stop at Guinness lake (never experienced so much wind in my life). We were lucky with the weather though as it didn’t rain at all. The coach stops at the Glendalough hotel and driver gives instructions on how to get through the monastery’s village and then to the lakes , second one surrounded by the mountains. You’re given 1.5 hr approximately which is okay if you don’t take it slow. I guess I kind of expected more in terms of being able to see more of the Wicklow mountains rather than just the lake view. At this point I reckon this can’t be done in a half day tour. So for what it is I would still recommend this tour but just be aware.
