Terrible customer service provided by Irish Day Tours
, Nov 2019
The tour package included the boat ride. I was very casually notified by the driver upon boarding the bus on the morning of the 30th October 2019 that the boat ride has been closed for the season. In compensation we were told that the tour company has arranged a visit to the caves. This is no compensation! The visit to the caves was not worth seeing. My wife and I flew to Ireland specifically to see the Cliffs of Moher for the full experience. We are absolutely disappointed that the cancellation of the boat ride was not even communicated to us timeously, which was meant to be the highlight of our trip. Upon initiating a conversation with Jonathan Wallace (Customer Experience Manager), he maintains no fault from the tour company. Firstly, why is a package like this offered by Irish Tours if one is not compensated for the cancelled boat trip as it is clear from correspondence with Jonathan Wallacel that these decisions are made by the captain of the boat and not the tour company. This should be stated on the website that for this particular package there is a possibility that the boast cruise could be cancelled and that this will be substituted for the trip to the caves. This would impact on the decision whether to go for this package or not. It should not be left to assumption that one would get to experience exactly what one pays for. A part refund was very abruptly denied by Irish Tours! My advise to tourists...….do not book your tours with IRISH DAY TOURS!

Hi m0rarj, Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately if the boat cruise is cancelled, this decision is made by the company who run the cruise at Cliffs Of Moher. This is not the decision of Irish Day Tours. If there is a cancellation, our drivers find out the morning of the tour from the captain. You must also understand that in October off the west coast of Ireland, sea conditions may be unsafe for a boat cruise. Waves can potentially be extremely dangerous or the boat itself may be pushed towards the cliffs. There is a chance of a cancellation. Customer safety is a priority. The Ailwee Caves are a top attraction, and are used in our winter schedule (Nov-March). During April to October, the caves are used as an alternative should the boat cruise be cancelled. The tour still includes a 5000yr old tomb visit, Doolin, The Burren, Cliffs Of Moher cliff walks in a 12 hour schedule. I am sorry that on this occasion - October 30th - the cruise was cancelled. However, sea forecasts and the Captain's final decision are beyond our control. Thank you,
Bus too cold

I liked the boatstour and the sheep dog demonstration. The tourbus was too cold. The driver could not switch the heating on.
Cliffs of Moher

Barry is a great and informative guide, had a wonderful time learning more about the areas that we visited. Even though we had trouble finding Molly Malone at first, we were able to catch up with the rest of the group. The weather caused us to miss the boat tour part of our trip but we were refunded for it. We got completely soaked at the top of the cliffs but it was amazing! Would definitely go again.
Couldn't get on the cruise
, Sep 2019
Well I was looking forward for the scenery . Gerard was very curtious but no matter how many times I requested him to crank up the mic volume he didn't so couldn't hear much of what he have had to say over the noise of the bus. Not enough time to enjoy the cliffs Our cruise got canceled due to high gusts but no refund offered . I'd rather go to a moher only visit rather than waste the time traveling the country side or just rent a car

Magnificient nature
, Jul 2019
After two days in the capital we enjoyed a break in the western part of Ireland. The tour to the Cliffs of Moher was impressive and well worth every cent. We loved to listen to the comments if our very positive guide and felt safe during the ride.

We were on July 10th on this fantastic trip. Our guide and guide Steve was incredible. For 13 hours, he told us about Ireland. He was extremely polite and correct. We had four breaks in which we could have a meal, a cup of coffee and a rest from the road. The bus was new, air-conditioned. I strongly recommend this excursion because it corresponds to 100% of what was announced in the offer. Boating around the rocks and then seeing them on land is indescribable. Thank you Steve for the wonderful day!
A rough and beautiful ride
, Jun 2019
Our driver was fantastic. The history and stories made the drive seem much shorter! There is so much beauty and history and story to absorb. Walking where the ancients once walked is soul stirring. The Atlantic gave us a taste of her power on the boat ride which prevented any up close views of the cliffs and wildlife, but it was incredible still. Walking the cliffs after a very lively guided tour was breathtaking (literally, as the winds were 20+mph!) Would LOVE to do it again!
Great trip.

Trip was perfect! The day started out on time. The first stop at the sheep ranch was very educational from the old encampment to the sheep herding dog demonstration. Next stop the cliffs, first stop there was the bottom tour. Ocean was calm and sunny. Then to the top. Perfect day sunny and no strong wind. Trip home was fast.
Absolutely breathtaking

Jim was our tour guide and he was an absolute gem. He told us little facts all along the way and did his best to entertain and keep the tour on time. It was extremely foggy the day we went and we got magnificent views from the cruise even though it was a bit foggy from the cliff top. To truly get a sense of how majestic the cliffs are I’d recommend the cruise. It is a long day but they do plenty of pit stops for food and bathroom breaks.
Great tour, except for the ride
, May 2019
This was a terrific tour but you should be aware that it involves sitting on the tour bus for 3+ hours each way to get there and then get back to Dublin. The cliffs are wonderful, the boat ride is pretty choppy (don’t do it if you have any motion sickness) but well worth it. Our tour guide, Rob, was very good and entertaining. He even sang us a couple of Irish ditties. We really enjoyed the tour but didn’t enjoy sitting on the bus to get there and back. The cliffs are on the western side of Ireland and getting there isn’t half the fun. I don’t want to discourage anyone from this tour but you really should be aware of the time commitment of doing nothing. We also stopped for lunch at a fish & chips restaurant where the food was mediocre at best. We’ve had better fish & chips at C. B. Potts in Denver.
