Departure Point

Traveler pickup is offered
Please contact us 24-48 hours before trip departure to ensure your pick-up location is located in our pick-up range.

Choose a morning or afternoon departure, then begin with pickup at your accommodations in Denver. Enjoy views of mountain scenery during the 30-minute drive to Clear Creek, which runs through a picture-perfect valley: this is the site of the 1859 Colorado gold rush, and the river is lined with old fashioned mills and shuttered gold mines.

Upon arrival at the river, start with a briefing on white-water safety and technique. You’ll hit the river with a small group of six paddlers and a professional river guide, then take on a series of rapids suited for beginning or intermediate rafters.

Refuel with light snacks and drinks along the way, and soak up the views of Rocky Mountain forests, valleys, and peaks as you relax between rapids. When you reach the takeout point, dry off for the return trip to your Denver accommodations. Before finishing the day, you’ll receive a disk of images from the rafting trip as a personalized souvenir of your time on Clear Creek.

Awful

My tour was canceled the night before and it was not even refunded. I had to call many times to fix the situation. Moreover, this was the second time VIATOR canceled a trip in less than seven days. They assured me that the trips were going to be refunded in 24 hours. It’s been 4 days and I’m still waiting.. The also won’t adjust my balance to any other tour on their website. It’s the worst experience in reservations. Choose Aspire Tours!

Hi Andy, Thank you for your feedback. Denver Adventures notified Viator right away so they could notify you that the reservation was cancelled as soon as we received the reservation from Viator. Denver Adventures also approved a refund right away. Viator is a 3rd party booking site. We always recommend going directly through the operating company(Denver Adventures) to receive the best customer service. Talking directly to the operating company is always the best way to go for live availability. Based on the review above it looks like you meant to review Viator and not Denver Adventures. Thank you.

We did the Advanced run on Clear Creek...

We did the Advanced run on Clear Creek, which starts upstream from the Clear Creek Rafting office at the advanced section, then goes on through the beginner section and ends at the office. The way this works is the tour operator picked us up in downtown Denver and took us to the rafting company, which was about a 30-45 minutes drive, depending on traffic. Rachael from the tour operator was very nice and did a great job. The rafting company runs quite the tight operation. They had us separated into a few large groups at their office within minutes of arriving and then we were on the buses heading upstream. About 10-15 minutes later, we were at the put in point. We spend about 20 minutes going over safety and the guide made sure everyone could show him that they understood his instructions (we just got in the boat on land and he issued some commands to which we reponded with what we should do on the water--fairly easy). Then it was into the water. Given that it was late June and the snow melt off was still occurring, holy god was the water cold (40 degrees fahrenheit). We had neoprene wetsuits and spray skirts (waterproof jackets) on. The spray skirt is optional, but I highly recommend it. Because we booked through the tour operator, our cost included the use of neoprene boots. I also recommend renting those if it's an add-on option for you. You'll be so much more comfortable. We rafted through the advanced section, which includes rapids that will get the whole boat covered in water at some points. Lots of fun. I'd say that anyone could do the beginner or advanced section as long as you can take commands from the guide and have enough strength to plant your feet in the boat. The last thing you want is to fall in that water, but I would say these guys have the safety thing down. One last thing, be sure to grab all your stuff when getting out of the tour operator's van. My buddy's wallet fell out onto the floor and had alot of trouble getting it back from them
