Great experience

Great value. Tour guide has excellent knowledge of the local area today and historically. Cruise also offered the extra viewpoint & understanding of the bombings. The museum is outstanding however could easily spent 3+ hours looking and reading. After checking in, watching the intro movie there was only 10 mins to see the entire museum before we had to leave for the boat. It would have been great to issue to the group a ‘re-entry’ ticket to visit the museum again in the next 48 hours to get the full value of the museum

Rewarding tour

We did this tour on Wed 11 March. I had a particular interest because my father was with an army transport unit driving a truck between the airport and Darwin Wharf when the bombing began. Betty was a brilliant guide around the key sites and assisted me at the military museum to archive my father's story by video. The boat guide Rob was also brilliant. His navy background helped and his inclusion of a bit of 1940s music was great. All pick ups and drop offs excellent.

Hi Helen, thanks for taking the time to post a review, and how fantastic that you were able to locate your father's story at the military museum. I will pass your compliments onto both Betty and Rob, we are blessed to have them as part of our crew.

Great History

Very informative trip - our guide Betty was great. Tour felt a little rushed though, would have loved longer at the War Museum, we only had just over 30 minutes which wasn’t long enough. Great history.

Thanks Jack for your feedback and your compliments about Betty, which we will pass on. Your absolutely right that there is so much to see at the Military Museum. Our half day tour schedules 45 minutes there, with a day pass out provided for those who wish to return in the afternoon. With so much war history in Darwin we are challenged with making the most of the 4.5 hours that we have with our guests. We're pleased that you enjoyed the history.

First a mini bus tour - good aircon - of Darwin, saw places no ordinary tourist would see, including all the bombing spots, the few places that survive today and the spot KEITH and Ross Smith touched down after their epic flight from UK. Also points of interest from cyclone Tracey. Then a tour and short film of the bombing at the Military Museum before a harbour tour pointing out damage and wrecks from the bombing.

Hi Grantley, Thanks for your kind review, and yes, the aircon is good and so important in the little bus!

Excellent trip....interesting and informative narration by the driver/guide and a comprehensive look at lots of the sights and sites related to the WW2 bombing of Darwin by the Japanese. Harbour Cruise was great....perfect weather and great information on the ships etc that were sunk on that tragic first attack. A thoroughly enjoyable experience. Would recommend strongly for anyone looking to learn a little more about our wartime history.
