Don’t do it!
, Mar 2022
Not enough assistance for two days and I don’t get on with the coach driver straightaway when he refused to accept my special enquires due to my hidden disabilities. They have not reserved seats for me at the front so that I can see his face to lip read. Unfortunately, I was right at the back of the coach. When they had been so disorganised, I had to sit on fold up seat was so uncomfortable and told me I had to move so that everyone gets off the coach and smelly bin next to me. I missed out a lot of information and I had to ask guests who shared the coach with me constantly. He doesn’t understand where I’m coming from so that made it extremely difficult for us to cooperate. He was very rude and shouted at me in the cafe in a local aboriginal community for lunch was so embarrassing. I wanted to end this trip early but unfortunately, I was stuck for much longer. I got refused to have partial refund and no apologies whatsoever. I noticed the coach driver, Micheal had not once inform the hotel manager, staff on boat, staff in aboriginal community or anybody else so that they’re aware I’m deaf and that never happened because I had to chase them asking what I’ve missed. It was a utter disaster! I had given them plenty of time to find a solution for me but no, none of them have worked. I wasted £460 on two days attraction and I ended up with plenty of barriers for this attraction when I’m on holiday.

A semi satisfactory tour of an exceptional place

East alligator river cruise, yellow billabong cruise, Ubirr rock are definate stand outs on this tour Whilst this tour had great components - I felt like it was lacking. Taken to several cultural centres that a lot of people had no interest in with an awkward expectation to buy something. It would have been nice to be given more information about the area and the option for additional activities which would also add to the overall experience. Some activities felt quite rushed while others felt quite dragging. Obviously there's a lot of travel time that is not commented on before purchase. In saying that our tour guide Shane was fantastic and looked after us well.

I have rated this tour as 4 only due to the hotel accommodation that I chose - The Aurora. The tour was inspiring with so much to view and experience. I would recommend it for anyone thinking about visiting Kakadu. It is certainly a comprehensive way in which to see the area, especially when the tour guide, Narelle was so informative, interesting and certainly knew how to put people at ease. However, the Hotel Aurora was tired, the air-conditioning took nearly three hours to moderately cool the room, the pool area at night was not adequately lit to take a swim. Being aware of the humidity and heat conditions, the air-conditioning unit should have been switched on prior to arrivals. This at least would have given some respite to hot and tired guests. Whilst it was clean and adequate, it was disappointing. The room charge was similar to the Crocodile Resort Hotel which is where I would advise people to stay.
