A little disappointing
Terrie_B
, Mar 2020
Our visit was just okay because it was a Red flag water day island wide so no one was allowed to go into the ocean - so no blow up events or water activities. The pools were freezing cold so that was not an option either. We had fun just playing on the shoreline making sand castles and sunning. There were plenty of chaise lounges and the waiters were attentive. But the pool activities were super disappointing because of the freezing water. We did pay for the buffet but I would recommend not adding it to your bill. You could order from the waiters on the beach and that food was actually much better and not too pricey either. The buffet was not horrible, but not great either. I think if it had been a nicer weather day, we would've had a great time. Transportation was right on and very easy so I would add that on as an extra.

Windy conditions prevented ocean activist. Food was ok. Drinks were ok. Services were decent. Weather wasn’t their fault. Could have credited for lack of full activities.

Playa Mia was an incredible experience for our family of 5! The kids splash pad area was a big hit for our younger kids as were the water slides. The beach, beach toys and inflatables were a lot of fun as well. The only disappointment was the food. We were hoping for more of an authentic Mexican buffet but the food options were really quite random. The food wasn’t terrible but it was average at best.

So much to do there...

They did a great job. Easy for us to get a taxi from the port. $23 for 5 people. We got there when they opened. Walked right down to the water's edge and got our recliners. Played beach volleyball on right height net, on the inflatables we played a tethered volleyball, kayaked. They have a bridge over to a spa. Not heated, but felt good. They have water slides, kid's play area, cabanas for rent ($30/day) and the big pavilion with tables for eating at the buffet. Flavored water products were included. We played ping pong outside in the sand as well. They have lockers for $4 (and a $4 refundable deposit for your key). They have sailboats included and water trikes as well. Lots to do and fun. Takes about 15 minutes to get there. Lots of taxis when you go, no problem. As soon as we jumped in I verified the cost. $23 to get back.
