I like Spain, and each year I spend...

I like Spain, and each year I spend my vacation in this country I do go and visit Montserrat. This year was not an exception. At the same time, for the independent traveler without the car this trip can be complicated, especially then travelling with family, so my choice was moved to the organized trip, and so I booked it on Viator. I would like to divide my review in to parts: firstly, Montserrat part and secondly, logistics of transfer. Montserrat will be easy: it is amazing as usual, with ancient history and magnificent mountains, with farmers' foods sold on the street and good hiking trip to St Michael cross. The time spent in Montserrat for the Viator excursion was only about 3 hours, which is not so much in the end. One can make a decision: either to go to Madonna and exploring of Monastery and shops, or going hiking. As it was not my first visit, I decided for the latter, but please be aware - line for Madonna is very long and slow, and most of the travelers arrive around 12, by then it is opened. After cultural part, one can by some local liquors and other souvenirs in the gift shop and make some small walks prior to the departure. We left Montserrat by Cremallier which is a unforgettable experience on its own and then started back by bus to the Costa Brava sea shore. Logistics/ organization part is something I'm not so happy about. Let's start from the beginning: initially we bought English tour, but in the bus there were people of different nationalities. I believe as the guide didn't tell us specifics about Montserrat history or origins, but more about organization questions and stuff we can do at arrival, it would be great to start with English or at least ask people if they understand English to speed up the process. In reality the same speech was repeated in 5 or 6 languages, giving me headache. It is great for the guide to have such waste knowledge of languages, but for sure there is an area for improvement here. In total, our trip lasted from 8 am to 7 pm, by them we returned to Tossa, and from this time, we spent 3 hours at Montserrat and about 8 hours peaking up, dropping people and driving, so I would think this can be quite challenging trip for the people who doesn't like long drives. In general, if you really want to go and visit Montserrat, then sacrifices should be made and this trip can be a good possibility.

Highly recommend this trip. It is a long bus trip but scenery is so worth it. The guide is very informative about the scenery and areas you are passing on the coach. Once you get to Montserrat you are blown away by the spectacular views. Such much to see and do. Well worth visiting!!!
