Mosque Cathedral of Cordoba History Tour

The tour guide was both knowledgeable and a good presenter. He had a way of making the history interesting. The only negative is that the instructions are unclear about how to join up with the tour. We had a phone confirmation of our tour purchase and met up with a group by the olive tree. The instructions said there was another step, that wasn't the case.

The tour was fantastic. Our guide was incredibly knowledgable, friendly and fun. With him it was as if you were journeying through time and experiencing the development of the building.

We loved our guide for the Mezquita. She was in tune with the interests and perspectives of our group, and we felt like friends by the end! There's no replacement for the personal touch of someone with a genuine love for the history of the place.

All may know beforehand the beauty of this great Mosque Cathedral but still be in awe when you witness with your own eyes. The only bit you may forget is a good guide to bring to life it's history and we would thoroughly recommend Raul who was locally born and a great communicator in English.

Our guide was ok, but it was impossible to understand his comments and presentation. With 50 people in our tour, we often could not see him. He continually referenced a very small 5-8” foldout of the mosque, which we could not always see. He did not have a flag or anything to allow us to follow him easily. This tour would have been ok with 25 or fewer folks, but was disappointing with 50. Why Viatour allowed so many to signup is a mystery.

Excellent tour with good guide. You meet by the olive tree by the well in the middle of the courtyard and get an ear plug from the guide. The tour takes about 1.5 hours and there are toilets inside the cathedral!

This was my second visit to the great Mosque Cathedral in Cordoba. I chose this tour because it gave a history of this building and allowed for unlimited post-tour exploration of the site. Our tour guide, Angel, was easy to understand, informative and entertaining as he highlighted the history. His pacing was appropriate and he was attentive to any questions raised by the group. The meeting place was easy to find.

What a great experience and tour. A must see. We had a great tour guide named Angel, A+++. He was very detailed and knew so much history.

Beautiful, interesting place to see. Understanding where to meet the tour guide, how to get the tickets and then understanding the guide left something to be desired. Instructions on getting tickets made it sound like we had to get them at a ticket booth, but that wasn't the case. The gal at the ticket booth directed us to the meeting place, and that's where we got the tickets. The guide's accent was so thick, French, that we had trouble understanding her English.

Beautiful tour! Excellent guide! We had time to explore the cathedral after the tour for as long as we wanted, which is great because we could enjoy the tour and listen to what the tour guide had to say and then take pictures on our own. Fantastic!
