Great tour in spite of terrible weather
Sandra_A
, Feb 2020
Our tour occurred on possibly the worst weather day of the year in Copenhagen. In spite of the miserable day, our tour guide Allan presented the food and drinks in a warm and friendly manner. He chatted with all members of our group and provided lots of history and insider information about this interesting city, his hometown. We love food tours in the various cities we have visited as they provide great insight into the soul of the city.

More Walk, Less Food

Jack was a fun, engaging tour guide. But the food tour has been poorly designed. For 3 hours, the tastings were limited to just 4 or 5 small dishes, although so many more things were actually described. The first stop serves you very ordinary hotdogs (in contrast to the better ones, which were also on display). The open-faced sandwiches were more like tiny hors d'oeuvres than sandwiches. Jack did a good job describing the dishes, making them sound exciting -- but in the end, the gap between description and reality were just too far and wide. There was a lot of walking. And it was difficult for the seniors who were part of the tour -- and there were a number of them. The design of this tour needs a rethink, especially because it fails to properly present Danish food.

A dud - walk on by this one

My luck with food tours is usually good but this one was not the case - the food options (and portions- and yes I realized that I wouldn't have a full fledged meal!) were marginal. The tour was 2.5 hours but could have been done easily in 2 hours; I felt like the guide was 'stretching' and 'stalling for time'. All in all I would not recd it and it was not good value for money.

Good tour

We had Pablo as our guide. He was very good but he did have a big group of 16 to handle. A few too many for a food walking tour. Still a good tour plenty of food and beers to sample. A map of where we were taken would be great for all of these food walking tours.

We could not take this tour. It was organized by a subcontractor, and when we arrived there was a crowd waiting to go: 24 people, us excluded. We refused to take the tour in those conditions and are waiting to be reimbursed.

Great tour guide!

There was about 20 of us waiting outside the front door of the meeting location for the tour guide. For some reason the tour organizer meet 4 tour customers at the side door and dispatched the tour guide without checking the front door. We all had confirmed tickets with viator, It was a bit of a hurry up and catch up once the tour organizer realized what happened. The tour guide Laura was excellent but it was her last tour with the company. We enjoyed the street food hot dogs Also the beer was excellent and all the next 3 stops. Plenty to eat and drink during the tour.

Fantastic Danish food tour

Our tour guide, Jack Creighton, gave us a great tour of downtown Copenhagen. He was very knowledgeable, incredibly funny, and a great host. We tried Danish-style hot dog, beer, smørbrød, fish ball, and pastry. His descriptions of the Danish food, people, and culture we're insightful and witty. Jack is clearly a well-travelled guide, and his passion for Copenhagen was obvious. We would definitely take another tour with Jack.

We thoroughly enjoyed our walking and in particular our guide, Allan. The group had 18 people and Allan kept track of all of us while covering a good amount of territory throughout historic Copenhagen. Both the food and beer were well chosen and we were thoroughly satisfied by the end. Thank you Allan for a great experience!

What a great way to walk the city with a guide, visit hip cafes and bars and enjoy the wonderful cuisine Copenhagen has to offer. Our guide, Jack, was outstanding. Knowledgeable and fun...he just created the best vibe for our group of 10 tour which was a mix of ages and nationalities. Thanks Jack C! Totally recommend this tour.

Our guide Ashton was excellent: knowledgeable and entertaining. He took us to some really great food and drink venues, most of which we'd never have visited otherwise, to our loss. Can thoroughly recommend him and the tour.
