Our tour guide was friendly and passionate about his home, but his tour had a strong focus on the arts (music, murals, etc.). That may or may not be for you. He also designs and sells postcards as a side business, which is great, but it's really annoying to stand around and wait awkwardly while he stops ever person who looks like a tourist and tries to make a sale. Most importantly, transportation is a NIGHTMARE. There was only 2 of us on the tour this day, both of us staying in Chisinau, and we had both selected the option to have transportation to Transnistria included within the price of our tour. However, the tour guide contacted the other guy and asked him to arrange it himself, so he picked me up in a cab in the morning, but then the cab refused to keep driving. We were on the street in Chisinau for over an hour trying to find our own way to the tour starting point. It was unbelievably frustrating, especially when you've already paid for this service. For that reason especially, I would not recommend this tour.
