Yesterday's tour with Chef was the highlight of our trip. His historical tour was informative and fun and the meal we ate, incorporating the ingredients we learned about, was some of the best food I've ever eaten. I can't wait to do the tour in another season and share another meal at the charming Bistro A Vin.

Five Stars Is Not Enough

Five stars doesn’t even begin to describe the excellence of this experience. This tour was a beyond wonderful experience. Chef Parker was knowledgeable, engaging, entertaining and the food was perfect! Chef Parker, through his cooking, demonstrated a passion and love for food, history and people. Very unique experience combining how food and history are historically related! I would and will talk about and recommend this tour to all my friends and anyone that will listen. So wonderful to be a part of someone’s passion for his city, food, and history! Smart, tasty and unique!! Also saw Chef later that night and he was just the same. PS he has great recommendations and loves crediting others for their part in this historical culinary adventure! Truly an incredible experience.

Definitely Worth It

Tour took a little longer than it was supposed to, but it turned out to be great, and every part of the lunch was delicious. Chef was even nice enough to box something for my mother, who had to leave the tour. He also gave us a complimentary bottle of wine. Overall a great experience, even in bad weather!

Gourmet History Tour

A must do if visiting Charleston! Walking food history tour was informative and helped set the stage for our amazing meal prepared by Chef Forrest Parker. We had an abundance of food with wine pairings. At the end, recipes to recreate at home. A plus, for me, was the insistence from Chef to reach out if we had any questions. We spent a month on the road and this was one of the highlights of our trip!

Highly recommend this tour especially for people who have been to Charleston before and done regular tours. This one truly includes undiscovered areas and information. Chef Forrest Parker was entertaining, knowledgable and friendly. The food was delicious and the wine was matched well with each offering.

Oh. My. Gosh!! The best tour I have ever been on! He gave a lot of information with his humor. He calls it “Dad” humor but I think was better :) We had a group of three generations and all ages said was fantastic! And the FOOD was soooo good! My daughter now has a new favorite recipe she wants for her birthday dinner. Chef Forrest offered me any help he could with finding the groceries or with making it, when the time comes. It is a quaint bistro/bar where the magic happens and the wine was great! Can’t say enough, except, you should go on this tour!
