Tour with a hidden agenda

1. we were picked up 1hr late from our hotel (had no bfast as pickup was supposed to be at 7am) 2. No private taxi as stated in advert but a mini bus of 14. 3. Tour guide RUSHED through market not letting us experience anything just to stop us at a planned massage parlour, herbs shop and a restaurant!! Waste of money.

A confirmation text via WA the night before for my hotel pick up was great. Ilyass picked me up, and we rocked out to my fav music on the bluetooth the whole way there and back. Tour guide Sayid was perfect! Lots of walking at The Medina. We stopped at the best shopping places. He helped me lots!

On December 3, 2017 the tourguide Mr Fuad led us to visit a carpet Merchant Chez Lahna, there I bought a berber carpet to be shipped to my friend in Germany, till now not arrived in Germany. Many attempts to contact the merchant trough phone calls failed, email were bounced back. So I was cheated.

Marrakech was wonderful, the logistics of the trip an an unwanted 45 minute stop at a rug seller not so much. We were met on time at our hotel by a pleasant driver who spoke zero English. After about 20 minutes in the car, with lots of helo from siri translating into french, we figured out that we were meeting our guide in Marrakech. Issam, our guide in Marrakech, was great--pleasant and knowledgable. After 2 hours or so, he turned us over to another guide, whose name I don't recall. The second guide took us through the market area, and was also pleasant and knowledgable. Things went south when the second guide took us to a rug dealer, where we spent 45 minutes getting a semi-hard sell on rugs. The other members of the group and I made it clear we weren't interested in buying, but that didn't deter the process. My wife was really ticked off, and the sales pitch negatively affected our overall view of the tour. My exact thoughts were that I hadn't paid 300 to endure this. Suggestions: better communication before the tour to avoid the confusion of who the guide would be, and warn the customer that there would be a sales pitch, and make it optional.
