Jesus was a great guide! We had a. Great time! Jesus picked us up from our hotel and took us to the volcano. He made sure we were aware of the cost for everything.

Cool volcano, unprofessional tour company

Very poorly organized. Couple days before I texted to confirm details and was told they didnt "have capacity" to hold my Saturday tour so I should go Friday. After inquiring why nobody reached out to me so I could figure out my alternate plan, all of a sudden the tour was back on. 7:30am tour turned into 8:00-8:15 pickup. Fine. I texted at 8:13 just to reconfirm and was told there was a delay because of traffic. Then I get a text saying they'll let me know when he's on his way. (I thought he was stuck in traffic?) Half an hour goes by and I request an update. I've now been sitting outside waiting for some time.. Ten minutes go by and I get a text saying he supposedly got a flat tire they need to fix it.. Eventually they show up. Would have been cool if they were just straight up from the beginning instead of showering me with bs. Long story short-- if you have no where to be, nothing to do, they're fine. "Tour guide" was nice enough and mud volcano was awesome. Which is why I gave two instead of one star. Would definitely recommend volcano, but not with this company.

I got value for my money in terms of a ride to the mud volcano and a snack. The volcano is more of a pit I was expecting warm it was more like cool. Plus it was very crowded, we are still in a pandemic. Its a great half day experience but try to get there early.

Great Time hanging in the mud

A great time with David Santiago as our tour guide. The trip there took some time but definitely worth it. Once you get to the volcano you’ll be a little weary with how tall it is but after the climb you see the mud and be a little hesitant but just jump in and you won’t regret it. After spending some time inside and taking pictures (your tour guide and workers at the volcano will take them for you so don’t worry!) you head back down to a little jump off point in the lake and wash off, getting mud off is easy but tedious so my recommendation would be to wear some old bathing suits, nothing too fancy and maybe bring a change of clothes to have a dry ride back. Overall David was great and I would definitely recommend to anyone since it’s such a great unique experience.

Mudd Bath

Great experience and the tour was great but prepare to bring extra money...when you get there one person takes your phone to take pictures which 50 pesos..once in the mud they give you a massage which is another 50 pesos and when you get out the mud another person bathes you which is another 50 pesos..fyi the pics..you have to pay for the massage and bath regardless of whether you are interested..the ride there was great but the ride back the tour guide had a little bit of attitude because the person that was dropped off before me did not tip. I guess he assumed I was not going to tip him, but I did despite the attitude.

not what it seems like

I was told the pick up from the hotel was at 9am and it did not happen until 945, then when we arrived to the place it is too crowed and the people inside the volcano rushes the visitors to get out, its disorganized. Even if the people who throw water at you for a fee /tip You still come out of the lake with a lot of mud under the swimming suit and there is no running water or a shower to rinse on your own. Some improvement needs to be done

I contacted the number provided to setup pickup location and time. Chatted with them the prior day via WhatsApp. I was never picked up next day. They lied and said they were in lobby (they weren't) I called back and they said they forgot to confirm w me. When I talked to customer service, they said it was my fault and they did not want to refund. I am disputing with my credit card company. Horrible experience

Viator screws up again.

It seems like every time I book a trip/shore excursion with Viator they screw it up. I booked this Cartagena excursion with them and was notified by them that I had to contact the operator at a telephone number in Cartagena. I contacted Viacom at least three times verbally to explain I would be on a cruise ship and have no int'l telephone so I need them to tell me where we meet and at what time. I was told by Viacom that the operator would contact me, which they never did over a one month period. I sent emails to the operator multiple times in both English and Spanish and never had a response. On the day of the excursion the ship's customer service desk called the telephone number on the voucher, which was an invalid number. So, we never went on the excursion because of this absolutely disgusting service!!!

What an experience

The mud was cool but you have to pay the 10k for the massage and mud wash off. You aren’t really given a choice they just start touching you and don’t ask. There is a lot of idle time waiting for food at beach and waiting for transporatation back to hotel. This trip should be much shorter. Also our bus broke down at the end of the tour. Overall ok. Just don’t have high expectations.
