Lake Louise withouy Snow

Driver/guide could not have been more informative and helpful providing an outstanding experience for us - when we last "saw" Lake Louise it was covered by 8 feet of snow, so has been an ambition of ours to see it properly for 4 years - mission accomplished, thank you. Morraine Lake and Bannff were also outstanding as were the more jagged views of the Rockies coming from the east (also a first for us).

Holiday Day Trip to The Rockies

Thoroughly enjoyed our day trip to see The Rockies and Lakes. Ian our Tour Guide was friendly and very informative. I just loved seeing Lake Louise and the surrounding areas. I was last there in 1960 with my parents when we lived in Edmonton. We moved back to Scotland in 1961. Have many photos of that holiday. First time back in all those years. Superb, glad I made the trip.

Our Tour Guide Ian was amazing! He was very knowledgeable, nice, picked us up on time and took us to all of the great stops. He had some great insights about Calgary, Banff and the other areas on the tour. Highly Recommend this trip!

Banff is beautiful - lots of site-seeing in one day

This was an excellent tour and I would definitely recommend venturing from Calgary into the National Park. RTB tours were great - prompt pick up and a very knowledgeable guide who gave the right level of information during the day and showed us some of the sites in Calgary as well. We had a small group which was beneficial and the pick up at Calgary Tower is great for the Fairmont Hotel. On reaching the Park, we had 45 minutes at Lake Louise, which is beautiful, there was time for photos, a short walk and shopping in the hotel. We then had 20minutes at Morraine lake (which some people prefer). I didn't get time to climb up the rocks - if you want to do that head there first. There is also a small gift shop here. We then went to Banff town and you had a couple of hours here - time for lunch (there is a range of restaurants and the guide can give recommendations) and shopping (there are many gift shops!). You can walk round the main streets which are easy to navigate but there is no time to do the Banff Gondola. I went in August and Banff town was quite busy. We then drove to the Banff Springs hotel and then on to a viewpoint for a better view of the hotel. We also stopped at the Bow Falls waterfall near Banff and then at a viewpoint for the Banff hoodoos. We also had a short 15mins stop at Lake Minnewanka. This was a great way to see and photograph lots of the main sites in Banff in a short time and the guide was great. He stopped when there was wildlife to photograph (which he said he sees on 80% of the trips) and the drive into and around the park is very scenic. We were very lucky with the weather (weather in Banff can be very different to Calgary - bring layers and comfy shoes) - the colours of the water in the lake were stunning. I was debating between a Lake Louise or a Banff trip and I am very glad I did this tour and saw both.

Solid tour all around

You spend just the right amount of time at each stop. Not too much, not too little. The main highlights are Lake Louise, Moraine Lake, and the main shopping area of Banff. There are a couple nice side stops as well. For what you pay for, this is a great tour that I would definitely recommend going on!

Very professional and friendly. Coming from Australia to Calgary i had to see the Rockys. I booked the tour less than 24 hours out. Was very impressed with so much to see in a short time. 11 hours touring around with some no cost extras was totally worth it. Would recommend this tour to anyone. Great value for money and service.

A lot of bodies in a small place

I thought a small tour shuttle would be more personal and interactive than a large tour bus. It probably would be if you weren’t in the very back where the road and engine noise is LOUD and you can’t hear the tour guide. Also, the seats aren’t large and cushy like on a Greyhound bus. 12 people in a 14 seater shuttle is unbelievably tight, with no “overhead bins” to stash your stuff. This only works if you buy your ticket last minute when you can be assured there won’t be more than 6-8, our guide Ted was nice and professional. But not very animated. I wouldn’t call him “super fun and entertaining” as I read about other guides in reviews. But he was informative (the 50 percent of the time I could actually hear him). I was very disappointed we were not able to go in the Banff Springs Hotel. We just did a drive by for pictures. Not the tours fault-I should’ve asked about this upfront. But if you have never been to Banff before, this is a highlight and you will want to make sure your tour accommodates a stop here.

I am sorry to hear that your experience was not the best. We strive to ensure that our guests are treated well. Stopping at the Banff Springs is a good idea and we will look into it. The only time when we will not be able to stop there is during peak times due to heavy traffic congestion. As for the driver/guide, everyone has a different personality and way with commentary. I will pass along your comments to our driver. Thank you for the comments. I really appreciate it.
