It was great! The guide was very informative and kept us on a good pace. Also got us to the important points of interest in a timely manner.

The falls!

We were met at the airport following our flight and transferred to our hotel which is wonderful. The van picked us up at the scheduled time and we met our guide, Dimetri at the immigration checkpoint as we left Argentina. There were 6 people, but we were the only English speaking. Dimetri easily kept us all informed and guided us down the walkways and twists and turns to the falls. He explained a lot about the formation of the falls and the history of the Park, without being too verbose and lecturing like a dull science teacher. And he did it in two languages! He asked questions and was very willing to talk about the things, flora and fauna which we encountered. We were excited that he told us he would be our guide for the Argentine falls and gave us the pickup time as we were transported back to the hotel. This morning the van did not show up until nearly 1/2 hour after the pickup time, and we were driven to another location where we transferred to a nearly full bus. As it turned out, there were only 4 English speaking and the remainder were Spanish speaking. The group was too big when it need to be explained in multiple languages. Our guide would explain to us and then give a much more detailed explanation to the others, or at least longer. There was more confusion as to meeting places and maps where we were to meet. More time was spent trying to find lost people. He routed us to Devils Throat falls first so we were definitely ahead of the later crowds. As we walked Dimetri was returning with his small group and greeted us, apologizing for the mix up. The trails are fantastic but expect a lot of walking! My Fitbit recorded 16,955 steps. I highly recommend this excursion. The company did a good job, a few things could be improved like making sure the transfer from the hotel in Buenos Aires to the airport and return had been confirmed. It could have been an easy, automatic up sell. I had called before leaving home to confirm we had a transfer but did not receive a reply. I was able to purchase when in Buenos Aires. Options need to be better explained and follow up necessary!

Iquazu Falls is a must see

At least 3 days for both sides of the falls. The Argentina side is the best and is really an all day event. Do the boat ride if you can $50 pp. take the train out to the Devels Throat is a must. Our guide Sebastian was very knowledgeable and spoke English very well. Kept our group together. We thoroughly enjoyed all of it. Nice sunny day.

A mixed experience

There is no doubt that the site is absolutely spectacular and deserved to be seen. Acknowledging that the logistics to organize the tour is complex and deserve attention - with a good result -, we feel that it was the only focus of our guide. The site would be even a lot more appreciated if information were provided. On all parts of the site, very well trailed, we were largely left on our own. Our guide did not even provide much contextual information during the bus rides. We knew from the Viator description that there was an optional part but its content was not described - then it came as a surprise what it was (a boat ride at the bottom of the falls, with a 4x4 through jungle ride) and its price - we could not take it without this information beforehand. The spectacular scenery and the nice hotel (Yvy La Selva), despite the doubtful cleanliness of the pool, left us with a good appreciation of the tour, overall.

Amazing Falls

The 3 day trip is very well put together. Airline Aerolineas was on time and our required transfer was waiting to transfer us to our Hotel, which was situated in the National Park. The YVY Hotel was well appointed, but be aware that it is situated in the park and there are no restaurants or shops within walking distance. The menu is not extensive, but the food was good. The organised tours were well prepared and the transport in air conditioned vehicles. All guides were well versed and our only complaint was on the 2nd day, we were two of only 5 English speaking travellers and the other 24 were Spanish speaking. The guide seemed to provide a lot more information in Spanish. It didn’t present a huge problem, but was rather annoying at times. All in all the trip was excellent and the scenery on both the Brazilian and Argentinian sides was speculated.
