Returns to original departure point
Your full-day tour begins with a stop in the town of Visegrad, known best for its medieval citadel that was originally built to protect the valley of the Danube. From the outside, you also have the chance to admire the ruins of the former royal residence, with construction dating back as far as 1323. Next, make your way to Esztergom to admire the inside of the famous neoclassical cathedral, the largest church in Hungary.

Then, take a brief pause from sightseeing and enjoy a filling 3-course lunch. Afterward, head to Szentendre, where your guide leads you on a walk through town and to the Caprice Hungarian Jewelry Center. There you can marvel at the pieces on display while learning about the manufacturing process.

The trip concludes with a river cruise along the beautiful Danube Bend on a public boat, bringing you back to Budapest. (Cruises run May 1 to September 30 only, tide permitting. During alternate months or low tide, you are returned to the city by bus.)

Everything about this tour was awesome except the little drive into Slovakia. I don't understand why this was of importance other than to possible see Hungary from across the Danube. Since it was during the day and nothing was lit up, it mostly served as a waste of time

Having seen the City of Budapest on a Segway for 2 hours and walked the shopping district we took the Danube Bend Day Trip. It was a splendid day out on a Coach into Slovakia to see a Basilica in Esztergrom then onto enjoy a 3 course lunch with panoramic views over the Danube Bend and then to a lively little town with lots of small shops and eating places where we took the 1 hour boat trip back to Budapest, enjoying the river views as we neared the City just in time to see the magnificent buildings showing off their prominence in the evening floodlights. A super trip, a great day out of the city.

Excellent tour. We were very lucky with the weather and our tour guide Elena was very knowleadgeable, though some times we got to much information. She was very chatty and full of dates and facts. The lunch was better than expected, I could not finish it! In a beautiful scenic restaurant, wich was a plus. The trip back in the boat was really good also.

It was a very comfortable tour, but boring. I don't blame what I saw or did, the guided was not very enthusiastic in his explanation. He didn't speak English well either. The tour is suitable for elders, not young travelers. And I was told that the printed-out voucher is needed. But it wasn't necessary after all.

Nice drive, with an excellent good driver and good guiding. Timings were great except the return boat trip, we had to wsit longer than adviced, but any ways that won't spoil this fantastic tour. Forgot to mention the superb lunch that we were given in a breath taking views restaurant.

We were in very good hands with Lazlo, our tour guide. The first stop at St. Steven's was awesome. Our hilltop lunch was excellent. the quaint town of stendre was beautiful and the boat ride back was relaxing.

Day Trip to the Danube Bend from Budapest

Very enjoyable day trip to the Danube Bend. The trip allowed a visit to the countryside, away from the city. The stop in Esztergom was wonderful with a visit to the beautiful Esztergom Basilica which stands on the bank of the Danube, overlooking Slovakia. After departing, our next stop was lunch at a nearby restaurant on our way to Szentendre which was a cute little town along the Danube. Many shops and people watching was quite enjoyable in the main square. At the conclusion of our stay, we boarded a boat to continue our return to Budapest on the Danube. Excellent day trip that concluded at the dock area in Budapest, where we started.

We will be asking for a refund. Our vouchers said to meet atTranscontinental Hotel. We arrived an hour early to make certain we'd be on time. No one showed up. They said that they called but they must have called our Canadian number! Frustrating!!!!

Too long for very little to see. Lunch was terrible, and guide was difficult to understand and not engaging. First time ever disappointed with a tour. With that said, I guess I am not one for a bus load of people, usually do private tours with less than 12 people
