Your gastronomic experience will begin in Fovam Ter, a square in central Budapest, where your guide will meet you. Take a stroll through the Great Market Hall where you’ll learn about traditional Hungarian ingredients. Your guide will ensure that you quickly become familiar with the culinary essentials, including ingredients which have been used in Hungarian kitchens for hundreds of years.

After the market tour, your next stop will be to a professional kitchen for your cooking class. Here your guide will teach you the basics of Hungarian cuisine and technique. You’ll be asked to prepare several dishes over the course of the class.

To help you along the way, Hungarian chefs will work closely beside you to explain the appropriate uses of paprika and other ingredients and spices. The menu will be designed around ingredients in season, and vegetarian and other dietary needs will be attended to.

At the end, enjoy the fruit of your labor! You’ll sit down to enjoy a delicious 3-course meal served with soft drinks. You’ll leave the class with copies of the recipes so that you can impress your friends with your newfound culinary techniques when you arrive home.

The meeting place was clear and the tour of the Market was excellent. Would have even better is we didn't have to wait almost 15 minutes for 5 people. Cooking was good, but not great.

Awesome experience, got to meet people, but never received the recipes after the session as promised. This is one reason I'm giving it a 4 star rating only.

We had a great experience in the market and in the class room. Working in teams of two we got to prepare three relatively simple dishes that made and excellent lunch. The whole experience was a highlight of our trip to Budapest.

My husband said - this was not something he would have booked - but was very glad I did - because he really enjoyed it! The facilities were great, our guide and chef, Teri, was very friendly, the food turned out amazing and we were able to enjoy a glass of wine while cooking our meal. It was such a relaxing and enjoyable experience - we would recommend this.

This was a really awesome course! It ended up being a private course - myself and two family members. We met outside the market and our guide took us in for a tour and to buy the food we would be using. After the tour we grabbed a taxi to the cooking school. Everything was already laid out for us, and when we arrived we were offered fresh brewed coffees, espressos, etc. We got to cooking pretty quickly they also have free sodas, beers, wine, etc. It was fun because every so often the tour guide would stop us to take a shot together. The food came out FANTASTIC!! They offer to email you the recipes after the course, but we also bought the cookbook, because yum! You can also buy other things there like knives, cooking utensils, pans, ingredients you used, and so on. Overall, highly recommend and we would absolutely do this again when we return. Thank you so much!!

We enjoyed the cooking class, making goulash and apple strudel. We took a walk and tour through the central market prior to reaching the cooking class whcih was great to see all the fresh foods, meat, fish, produce and baked goods. We have always taken one cooking class during our vacation for the past years and have always enjoyed learning how to prepare other foods. We recommend this tour for anyone wanting to try something new.
