A great day - thoroughly recommended
Lucy_B

Our group of 4 (2 Brisbane-bred and 2 Sydney-bred, but all now locals) had a wonderful day. Brian was a great guide and found dolphins, koalas, sting rays, a manta ray and a kangaroo for us to see. The highlight however was seeing 3 humpback whales quite close to Point Lookout, while we walked along the North Gorge walk. We felt very lucky. Brian also gave us interesting information about both Straddie and parts of Brisbane that even us old locals didn’t know.

A Quality Full Day Excursion

We were picked up at the meeting point above Botanical Gardens and driven directly to the ferry terminal. Our minibus driver / guide was James(?) and his smooth driving and gentle commentary set the pattern for the day. A nice touch was to get each traveller to say a few words about themselves. The who, what and why generated a feeling of easy friendship amongst strangers. Nice ferry crossing(s) with good coffee and snacks aboard. Lots of stops on Stradbroke Island to look for wildlife and walk the coastal paths. Many opportunities to ask questions and get informed replies. Use some insect repellent though, as the little so and sos were out in force early in the February day. An excellent lunch at a hotel, with a couple of drinks, was followed by a stop for very good local ice creams. A fuss free return ferry and bus transfer into central Brisbane rounded off a really good value tour. Thanks again to our friendly, professional guide.

James the driver was just amazing. Very informative and entertaining. Worked very hard to find us a 🐨 in the wild which he did (eventually lol). The 'straddie' experience was sensational. A definite must do in my books. Such a beautiful place. We saw Sea turtles, Dolphins, Manta rays, kangaroos and a koala. Loved the small group we were with which had a great mix of people.

Great Day Trip from Brisbane

Our driver was very friendly. Talked about Brisbane on way to ferry. Took fun ferry ride over to Stadbroke Island. Guide tried his best to find a koala, kangaroo & sea turtles in the wild, and we did see them! The stop at the lake, the lunch & the hike around the cliff area were all nice. The walking might be a little strenuous for someone with difficulty walking, but we all enjoyed it & had lovely views. Great day in all!
