Great private tour in and around the city

We booked this tour because we wanted to do something a bit different and had a particular interest in the communist era and it’s aftermath. We know from experience that you learn so much more by having a tour guide so decided to book. We saw places in and around Bratislava that we wouldn’t have ordinarily got to see on a city break. Our guide (Maroš) was friendly and informative. Highly recommend for those that prefer something a bit more interactive and unusual. Thanks Maroš! Duane and Jo (London)

Learned so much. Our guide was so good, very knowledgeable, fun friendly. Can't say enough about how interesting this was, gave a new perspective on life after communism from a person who actually Lived in this era. Car was awesome- made everything authentic. Places we toured were unexpected and so interesting. Definitely recommend.

Informative insight into a fascinating country.

Met our guide at a central pick up point. Driving around in a personal vintage Skoda was good fun, much more so than a mass tourist bus/tram. Our Guide was incredibly knowledgeable & very willing to share insight into his country's history. Russian Cemetery should not be missed & the trip out to the Iron Curtain museum was very interesting. If you really want to come away feeling like you've learnt & experienced some history, then this is the tour for you!

A MUST do for all Kapitalists

Of the many tours I've taken this was the most genuine and real (with no stop at the cousin/state owned gift shop, either!) Robert and his co guide took us and another couple in two great old cars to several sites around the city and to the old border. The personal details and insight really brought the past to life. From where the last person was killed trying to escape to the giant state run grocery store they showed us what life was really like. Imagine getting a banana once or twice a year (if you were good!) SO glad we did this.

This was the coolest tour we went on going down the Danube River. It helped us really understand the history of Slovakia and other countries surrounding it. Juro is awesome, intelligent and knows so much history about post soviet era and parts of their revolution from the USSR. Very unique!

My Post Communism Tour was the highlight of my recently short Bratislava visit. I would like to compliment whoever conceived the idea of the tour, as well as the selection of the sites the tour covers. I would like to especially praise my guide, Robert, for a job well done. His passion and energy made the trip doubly enjoyable. I am myself a tour guide with 40 years' experience, and am thoroughly familiar with the tour's subject matter, although never having been to Bratislava. Robert handled this old and very demanding client with aplomb and tact. Way to go, Robert! For whoever is interested in 20th century history, I recommend the tour wholeheartedly. Ron P, Jerusalem
