Meet your guide and small-group of no more than eight people in central Bordeaux and travel by minivan to your first destination—a Grand Cru winery in the Saint Emilion wine region. Learn the secrets of Saint Emilion’s famous red wines, the importance of ‘terroir’ and the art of producing ‘Grand Cru’ wines on a guided tour of the winery. After strolling the vineyards and peeking into the barrel room, head to the tasting room to sample a variety of fine wines.

Continue to the hilltop village of Saint-Emilion and soak up the atmosphere on a walking tour, admiring the medieval architecture, maze of cobbled lanes and spectacular views over the surrounding vineyards. In the village, stop at a local wine cellar for another tasting and perhaps sample famous varietals like Merlot and Cabernet Franc.

Enjoy a tour of Grand Cru winery, with a one-of-a-kind tasting that you are only able to do on this tour—compare the château wine with three wines from elsewhere in the world to better understand the meaning of “terroir” (only from November to March).

Make one more stop before heading back to Bordeaux—at a family-run winery, where the wine tasting is paired with a selection of regional cheeses and cured meats. Finally, with your appetite sated and a newfound appreciation of French wine, return to Bordeaux, where your tour ends back in the city center.
Pass By:
Take a seat in your air-conditioned minivan at 1:30pm or 2pm (depending on the season) in central Bordeaux, then spin out of the city toward Saint-Émilion to begin your 5-hour tour. Along the way, listen as your local guide shares information about Bordeaux’s wine making history and enjoy sweeping views over the rolling hillsides.
Stop At:
On arrival in Saint-Émilion, enjoy a short stroll through the medieval streets with your guide followed by a wine-tasting at a local wine cellar. Here, learn of the grape varietals like merlot and cabernet franc, and gain insight into the flavors they create in your glass. Head onward to a Grand Cru winery to enjoy a private visit and tasting. As you taste the wines, learn what makes Bordeaux wine so unique!

A delicious afternoon of wine in St. Emilion
, Sep 2021
Thank you to Marie for a great tour! My brother and I loved the châteaux we visited, the insightful commentary, and the delicious wines.
Fabulous wine tasting trip!

Our guide Anthony was excellent. He was really knowledgeable about the region and also about the wine! He had a great sense of humour and made the trip that extra bit special. The stop In St. Emilion Was beautiful. The 2 chateau that we stopped at were beautiful and the hosts were very welcoming and new their stuff! A great day and a great experience all round!
Great introduction to Saint-Emilion
, Jul 2020
Visited two wineries. Learned a lot about St-Emilion and Pomerol wines. Visited the quaint town of St-Emilion. Delicious "apero" to end the tour. Guide was very knowledgeable. Measures were put in place (social distancing, hand sanitizers) to safely enjoy the tour. Would recommend to those interested in wine or simply curious, since a variety of different wines can be sampled in one day.
Great trip!

Such a fun trip and Julie, the guide was wonderful! She patiently translated in English for the only non French speaking person in the group! The vineyards and the tasting were such fun experiences as well!

Great guided tour
, Feb 2020
The guide was great, not only was he very knowledgeable, he also had a great sense of humor and made the outing delightful. The two Châteaux we visited were beautiful and the wine was great. However, the tasting of the wine, which I had anticipated to be the main event was just a minor part of the excursion, we only tasted three wines at each place, which didn’t make me feel like I really learned enough about the different types and combinations of grapes etc. The little walking tour of Saint-Émilion was a highlight.
Good afternon

The tour is 5 star for following reasons. 1) Great guide in Chloe 2) Small group of eight 3) St Emillion is a great place to visit 4) Chateau Bernateau wines were excellent and host is so good that we all overstayed there more than an hour

Exceptional Wine Trip

Well planned half day trip to St. Emilion. Our guide was lovely. She was a local from the wine region and had exceptional knowledge of the area. This was by far the highlight of our trip. Would highly recommend.
Great Wine Experience
, Sep 2018
We were able to experience the differences between a modern winery and an old school family run winery. Both were amazing in their own ways. Our guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining. I wish that we could have had more time in Saint Emilion, but that will be for another trip.
