At times the tour was good but overall was disappointing

, Jul 2022
We booked our tour for Monday July 25th, 2022. Our tour guide, Alejandro showed up about 40 minutes late from the start time of 9 am. Said he ran into an emergency situation, ok things happen. The first part of the tour, going to the top of Monserrate, was good however our tour guide seemed to rush us off the mountain a little bit to make up for lost time. Next we visited a local fruit market for fruit sampling, coffee shop for Colombian coffee, and the coca tea shop for coca tea and souvenir shopping all the while admiring the Bogota street art all along the way and this was good. Unfortunately there were two other pretty big stops we expected to go to that were closed such as the Chicha shop and the Museo Del Oro. The tour guide brought us to the entrance of both of these spots and seemed surprised that both of these locations were closed so this seems to be the fault of the tour company itself unless I’m missing something here. These two spots are apparently closed Mondays so why we were allowed to book a tour that was supposed to take us to these two spots and not even the tour guide knew these spots were closed is not a good look. So much for the tour payment including the admission entrance fee for the Museo Del Oro since it was closed.. I had to go back to the Museo Del Oro the next day Tuesday and pay out of my own pocket for the entrance fee. That was our experience summarized… At times I feel like giving this a 2.5 out of 5 stars but since I can’t I’m giving it 2 out of 5 stars. - Nolan

Great Way to See Bogota —Go for It!

Nick was amazing and this is by far the best tour I have had both in Columbia and with Viator! Nick was personable, knowledgeable, engaging, accommodating, and explained things well. The company itself was also accommodating —we thought we would see both museums (Botero and Gold) and they made this happen. One of the many highlights of yesterday was that we got to meet one of the street artists. I enjoyed the Chicha tasting and it’s history. My friend’s favorite was the tamal. We had done a walking tour already and this one was significantly better. Although understood, please be advised that there is lots of walking as others have mentioned (according to my phone about 6 miles). Come prepared with comfortable shoes and water. A small recommendation is to maybe have two meeting points, the hostel wasn’t super centric, but I may be wrong ;)! Also, for those who struggle with walking, perhaps they can Uber and meet to Tour at the Montserrat stop. Go for it you won’t regret it!

City tour, food tour and Monserrate Must Do

The tour is a must do in the city. Julie was our tour guide and she was very knowledgeable and takes you to authentic local cafes and restaurants along the way. She explained the details about the region, food and people. There is a lot of walking and inclines on Monserrate so wear comfortable walking shoes, bring an umbrella and your own water.

AMAZING! Worth every cent. The tour girl, Andrea, really lets you in in every detail about every part of the city you visit, super kind and super helpful. There's a lot of walking, yes, but it´s worth it, you learn a lot about Bogota's history and you get to understand the relevance of the things you see. Would definitely go again if I get the chance.

Andrea is the sweetest! Qhen we went up to the top of Bogota, I felt sick because I had to little to eat and drink, and she was so sweet and shared her water with me, and she found places we could sit in the shadows, when she talked. And she was just easy to talk to, she is a really good tour guide! - The food was amazing and the city is beautiful. The tour was just great! :D

Would 100% recommend this tour! Our guide was Andrés and he was brilliant! He was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic. We learned so much about Bogota and its history, plus we got to taste some amazing Colombian food - including hot chocolate with cheese! 😄 As an artist himself, Andrès collaborates with other local artists and was able to show us different works of art. He also provided fascinating information on the surrounding street art as we progressed through the city. Such an interesting and varied tour. Thanks again Andrés, we loved it!

Nick was a phenomenal tour guide - we lucked out and landed a private tour. Nick was soooo knowledgeable, gracious, kind and friendly. We even ended up with pics with Carlos Trilleras, the renowned street artist - which was a real bonus. Love this experience and Nick’s guidance!! Thank you Nick!! You are a gift to Colombia!!

Nick was the best guide we could have had to show us around Candelaria and Monserrate. He was very friendly and extremely personable, which made it feel more like we were seeing the sights with a friend than a guide. As a history buff, I enjoyed hearing about Bogotá’s history and the many influences that made Bogota into what it is today. Nick also took us to several great spots to try local foods and drinks, all of which were amazing. He’s a great photographer as well, and even shared his WhatsApp with us in case we had additional questions later on or needed more recommendations. Nick is the absolute best! As for the tour, it was a great way to see Bogotá’s sights in a day. The views from Monserrat are beautiful, the Museo Botero was very interesting, and history of Candelaria and Bogota were fascinating.

Our tour guide was Gina and she was phenomenal! We spent the day exploring the city while learning about the history of Colombia--both social and political. The tour was better than we could have ever expected. Gina was kind, understanding, and extremely knowledgeable. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who would like to learn about Bogota's history while also seeing all its beauty.

Had an amazing tour with Nick! He really knows his city, and you can tell he loves sharing that with the people that visit! The Monserrate had to be my favorite place to see, but the whole thing was amazing! It was almost a private excursion, as there was only one other person with me, so it gave us more time to ask questions and to absorb the "useless facts," as he called it, which totally weren't useless! It was great! He gave us all kinds of tips and suggestions. I wish I had more time to take another trip with him! See if you can get Nick as your guide; you won't be disappointed!

fue un recorrido breve por bogota andrea que fue nuestra guia muy amigable, solo las porciones que te dan en la comida las mejoraría por algo mas grande aun que te cobren un poco mas y que te den tiempo para tomarte fotos...
