Your tour might look something like this: Start with pickup by your guide at El Dorado International, proceeding on to the charming neighborhood of La Candelaria. This atmospheric area features a unique mixture of Spanish Colonial and baroque architectural styles, allowing the perfect opportunity for wandering among its many shops, houses and churches. 

From there, head with your guide to Bogotá’s Plaza de Bolívar, home to many of the city’s most important landmarks, including the Colombia’s Presidential Palace (the Casa de Nariño) along with the Prime Cathedral, National Capitol, Casa 20 de Julio and the Liebano Palace, which is the office for the city mayor.

Your day then continues with lunch at an authentic Colombian restaurant and a visit to the mountaintop sanctuary of Monserrate. If there’s additional time, check out the Botero Museum, home to the works of Colombia’s most famous artist, Francisco Botero, as well as several pieces by Monet and Picasso. Depending on the option selected, your guide brings you to a local mall for a chance to do some souvenir hunting. If you choose the full-day option you have the opportunity to visit also the Zipaquira Salt Cathedral before returning you to the airport.

We had a long layover in Bogata and booked this day tour before we left the US. It was a perfect experience. We were warmly greeted by Raul and a driver. The introduction to Colombia, including history, unsettled government, culture and local sites could not have been more completed. Our driver was excellent, the sites we visited were fascinating and we even had a moment for coffee. The sky cleared and our trip to Masserate was spectacular. Maria was a great tour leader. She was very attentive and friendly! The only complaint is that the directions to the meeting place was confusing. Not speaking the language well, took an hour to find the meeting place because there are more than 1 OMA coffee shops.

OUTSTANDING GUIDE, FELIPE, and DRIVER, ANDRES! Very safe, personalized, entertaining and informative! Right on time. XLNT restaurant for lunch: very funky decor, clean, and with outstanding foods, happy staff interactions with us, and good Inca style live music. The Salt Cathedral is amazing, and definitely packed with the religious fervor of the artists. Be ready for horrendous traffic nearly everywhere, and expect less time at tourist sites as the result. The tour guide was excellent. He picked us up from the airport and took us to various sites. We visited a local market and tried local seasonal fruit. Then he took us up the cable car to Monserrate Santuary. Afterwards he took us to the Gold Museum and to try fresh brew Colombia coffee. Then we walked around Bolivar Square. Our guide was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. He was very professional and got us back to the airport in time to catch our flight home. I would recommend this tour for a quick layover tour.

We were met on time at the airport by our guide and toured the city in newer vehicles. He was very knowledgeable and passionate about his city. We really got a good flavor of Bogota and are inspired to return there for an extended stay sometime. The only downer was that, being a Canadian citizen, we had to pay a stiff entry tax even for the short few hours we were visiting.

This private sightseeing tour was an exceptional way to learn about Bogota. My past experiences have been as an independent traveler, but I wanted to see the city in a compressed time period, and not worry about making my flight. The guide and driver were kind and relatable, the food and drink experiences were unique and lovely, the cultural stops were engaging. I liked how the tour could be customized based on the travelers' activity levels. I really wanted to get some walking in so I could sleep on my overnight flight and it was easy to do. To me, taking such a tour seemed a little bougie, but it really allowed me to access places and experiences that I wouldn't have found easily on my own. Colombia surprised me pleasantly and I can't wait to return!

Luis was super professional and knowledgeable on the tour. He was made us feel so comfortable and intrigued with the history of Colombia/Bogota! There is so much to know about this beautiful city and country. The only thing to watch out for is depending on your connection time, I would save at least 2 hours to account for travel and clear long security/immigration lines to avoid stress, i.e. if you have a 6 hour layover, do a 4-hour layover tour, we had 7 hour lay-over and booked a 6-hour tour, we were glad that Luis was able to cram in so much when we told him that we need to shorten our trip!

Overall a good walking and guided tour. the guide was a bit over the top, in terms of catering to us. The cable car ride up to monastery was supposedly very busy and the guide did not take us there. reason given was that with a 2 hour queue, it would be practically impossible to come back and see other things. The monastery was the primary purpose of our layover, so we were disappointed. Instead he steered us to an emerald museum and to the shop for a guided demonstration of emerald cutting. obviously, he knew the folks there and made us sit and listen for 15 mins to this. the rest of the walkabout through the city was nice. he took us to good shops for artifacts. Also saw fantastic museums. Overall, we covered the 6 hour trip with other things. and got a good overview of the city. Bogota is an amazing city and worth more than a layover visit. Will be visiting the city, but taking time and sightseeing on my own over several days, not on a layover. for an introductory tour, this was a good start.

I had a 10-hour lay-over flight in Bogota and wanted to get a quick taste of the city. This tour was perfect! My guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. He she showed me the highlights of the city, which included a behind the scenes tour explaining how Colombian coffee is manufactured. I also had a traditional Colombian lunch which was excellent. At the end I had a few hours to visit places that I was interested in seeing, including the Museo de Oro. Highly recommend this tour! Sean

We only had a morning to see the city with a flight at 2 pm so we arranged this private site seeing tour with the guides picking us up at the hotel and dropping us at the airport in time for our flight. This worked so well. We were able to modify the day to get in what we could that interested us the most. Our guide took us to such interesting places. I would strongly suggest this tour to anyone who really wants to get a feel for Bogota on a layover or with a short time. We had been to a wedding the night before so were really tired and the guide took us to a very interesting place for coffee that really helped.

I rated this low because i only received an email on Dec. 30 2016 telling me the museums would be closed on Jan. 1, 2017. I would like to cancel the tour but realized that there would be no refund 2 days before the tour. Danny, the guide, picked me up and dropped me off at the airport, then we walked around the city center. He bought me a breakfast, later we went to Salt Cathedral instead of the coffee tour. I don't feel it is worth the money i paid USD157!
