Inches from gorgeous mantas!!
, Jun 2021
The reviews saying you get to see mantas inches away aren’t kidding!! It was an incredible experience. At first we didn’t see too many mantas, and then we connected our lights with another tour and the mantas came rolling in- literally. They would do barrel rolls right in front of you. You aren’t supposed to touch the mantas, they get so close though!! The crew did a good job of working with the other groups to optimize the experience. Quick breakdown- you sail out and watch the sunset, and then learn the ins and outs of why the mantas are in the area and the rules for floating with them. It’s an verbal easy process and the entire ship’s crew was extremely helpful and great to be around. This tour will come highly recommend to all visiting the area- the takeaways are unmatched and one of a kind!
Amazing experience!!

This was an awesome once in a lifetime experience!! The rays swoop in within inches of you and it’s so unbelievable! The tour operators were great - kind, helpful and informative. I was a little worried when they started off handing out ginger chews - not a good sign for sea sickness. Water is a bit choppy when you’re floating in the water. Our family was fine but there were a couple in our trip that were sick. The crew handled it well - very unobtrusive to the rest of the group and didn’t impact our experience at all. Our family all agreed that we were ready to be done about 15 minutes earlier than the end time - but then we would have missed a final loop by 2 rays! Worth it in the end!! Also recommend taking a jacket because it’s chilly after you get out of the water.
Wonderful manta rays experience

The captain and crew are nice, friendly, and knowledgeable about the Manta Rays (the island as well). Unlike other tours that go straight to the snorkeling, we were able to enjoy the sunset before jump into the water. Highly recommend!

Avoid Dustin
, May 2021
The crew was good, but for over half the dive there was some guy named Dustin (from a different crew?) who showed up a few people down from us. I could've put up with his banter -bad jokes and all, but he's talking with his head out of the water the whole time, hence his feet are dangling right in the path we are hoping for the Mantas to do their tricks. After being coached on staying prone in the water for the mantas and for our best experience, his actions just messed it up. We saw fewer manta stunts in front of us after Dustin showed up and all we got in return was his babbling!
We saw paradise. #SeaParadise

Excellent tour, we had 4 sightings with one barrel roll!

Not much of a “sunset cruise”, which was a short ride (<5 min to anchor, that’s actually a huge plus for this tour), but when we anchored there was another boat that obstructed the sunset (minus); however, that being said, the mantas are obviously the main event. It may be more beneficial to try a later night tour which may not be as crowded (see below) since the sunset is not the reason to go. It’s a pretty efficient setup and whereas other tours in the same area may not have gotten a good view, these guys set up sunken lights to augment the floating lights and optimize chances of seeing mantas. Good tour overall, we had a total of 4 sightings, one with a great barrel roll! Somewhat detracting (not the tour operators’ fault) were a couple of people who neglected to tell the crew that they had never snorkeled before (the crew does ask this a couple times, they never spoke up). As they flailed and panicked and couldn’t put their heads underwater, or lost their leg float pool noodles every min or so, the struggling and kicking probably scared some of the mantas off. Perhaps asking each group individually when checking in how much they’ve actually tried placing their head underwater with a snorkel would have allowed for some individual practice with snorkel/mask placement before actually getting in the water. You don’t need to be experienced, but you should probably borrow a snorkel and mask in a swimming pool and practice floating with your face under the surface and breathing through the snorkel, holding onto the ladder or a side wall to make sure you’re ok with the real thing.
