Unmet expectations

We fully recognize that COVID has impacted these tours tremendously and we want to support these businesses as we love Hawaii BUT... the price of the tour was significantly more expensive than normal. The food was substandard (a box lunch made on wonder bread wrapped in Saran Wrap) coupled with alcohol not included at that high price ($150 bucks). The tour advertises as a snorkel with spinner dolphins (why we accepted the higher price) but we ended up going to one location (along with 20 other boats and 100 other snorkelers) and saw zero dolphins. Although the crew members were friendly, they really did not provide much customer service - not much interaction with the passengers (I.e. can I get you another drink, can I spray defog in your goggles, or these are the fish you should look for). On the way back the crew never looked up from their phones or engaged the passengers. If one of us hadn’t spotted a whale not sure they would said anything or even stopped the boat. It’s a shame as we want these businesses to survive but we did any effort to make this this a memorable trip. We hope they make but we not be taking there cruise again.

Aloha, Thank you for taking the time to send us a review. We were disheartened to hear that you felt that you did not have a memorable tour experience. We greatly appreciate your input to help guide us during these unprecedented times and covid restrictions. We are hopeful that we will return to our full buffet style lunches once covid restrictions are safely lifted. The Captain Cook Monument at Kealakekua Bay is a very popular snorkel destination known for its vibrant reef and spinner dolphins are most often spotted in the bay but on some occasions we do not see them. We are excited you were able to see a Humpback Whale on your tour. Thank you again for your helpful review and we hope you will one day adventure with us again.

Best sailing/snorkeling/whale-watching day

It was the most fabulous day. We sailed to Kealakekua Bay, stopping briefly to check out the spinner dolphins. We were the first boat in the snorkeling cove and secured the mooring, giving us the best spot for snorkeling. The variety of fish was unreal - it was like being in an aquarium. After 30 minutes or so we dropped the mooring and sailed for a bit, eventually coming back to a similar spot, closer to the open ocean. Along the way we had a delicious lunch, tropical fruit drinks and snacks as well. We were even lucky enough to have a small humpback whale make an appearance and do a tail dive just before we got back to the harbor. Great crew as well!

We went with Tony and Eddie! They were fantastic. Snorkeling was incredible (probably the best we've ever experienced) and we learned so much about the history of the area. We definitely recommend this tour 🐠🐟

Our sail and snorkel with Mike and Bailey was amazing! Both my husband and I said that this was our favorite part of our trip to the Big Island. Both Mike and Bailey were extremely friendly and very knowledgeable. We saw whales, spinner dolphins, and tons of fish. Would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting Big Island, HI. Thanks Mike and Bailey for an unforgettable experience!

A great way to spend the morning!

Initially I wondered about spending the money for the outing but upon reflection, it was well worth the price of admission. The boat was clean, neat, organized and easy to get around. The crew 0f four, Zane, Joy and two others whose names escape me were all personable, humorous, and very attentive to every need. Safety was always front and center and they were well prepared for any situation. Lunch was plentiful and tasty. They also carry al of the supplies necessary for the snorkeler who left their gear at home Our two stops were relaxed, plenty of fish and coral to enjoy and more than adequate time to enjoy the surroundings. There was also interesting facts and stories of local legends including Captain Cook's demise. There was a total of 17 passengers which made it a comfortable journey. My wife and I would highly recommend this outing for the person who enjoys getting their money's worth.

Everything went very smoothly, but the real highlight was the very friendly and helpful staff in the boat. That really made it all very fun. And the lunch they serve us excellent as well. I would highly recommend it.
