Disappointing as we had a not great guide
, Nov 2019
We were really looking forward to this tour. Unfortunately our guide Markus was more interested in giving us an indepth history lesson. Markus quizzed us on European history and delved too deep into how Germany was formed. This formed the basis for the whole tour and quite honestly was too much. We wanted a brief overview of everything not the indepth university lesson we got. We visited all the placed we were supposed to but didnt really get the information about each place - for eg Palace of Tears he spent 15 mins explaining something i cant remember before he finally told us what is was and how it got its name. Same for the oldest bakery - although he didnt tell us anything about the bakery - he bought us a berliner and that was it. The other thing was he rushed everything - I didnt even have time to take photos - but I did which meant i was behind everyone by 5 mins the whole way. In addition once we got the Berlin wall - there were 6 of us on the tour - there were only 5 virtual reality headsets and only 3 of them worked. Really annoying when you pay for this. Hopefully if you get a better guide this would be a better tour. FYI we walked 13kms that day so wear your walking shoes.

Sara was an amazing tour guide. She gave us incredible information at every spot and she knew so much about area and its history. Her passion and enthusiasm oozed out of her. We especially enjoyed the small group (only us) and highly recommend this tour.

Lucian was amazing. His knowledge and understanding of the history of Berlin was amazing. It was to be a group tour but there was only my husband and and myself which made the tour all the more amazing. This tour was so good that our designated 4 hours turned into 6 hours. We were in Berlin for the start of a 10 day trip around Germany and I chose this tour as an introduction to Berlin that I didn't believe we would see as part of our tour. How right I was, we saw parts of Berlin that we didn't see see on organised tour of Berlin with our large tour organisation. I would recommend any tour that Urban Adventures or Lucian would complete as the service, value and knowledge were fantastic. We have used Viator many times and this was certainly one of the best.
