Return Details

Returns to original departure point
Emerge early and depart from central Belfast in a comfortable, air-conditioned minivan destined for the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Giant’s Causeway. Along the way, listen to legends surrounding the formation of the mystifying natural wonder that consists of hexagonal rock columns that fit together like a puzzle. Climb the coastal stones, listen to intriguing myths, and feel the invigorating ocean breeze as you spend some leisurely time at the natural landmark.

Travel the scenic Antrim Road to the famous Carrickfergus Castle, an impressive Norman fortress considered one of Northern Ireland’s best preserved. Hear of the structure’s intriguing history before traveling to the Old Mushmills Distillery, home to one of Ireland’s favorite brands of the amber nectar. Revitalize with lunch at the distilleries bar (own expense), and purchase special whiskey-related souvenirs from the gift shop (own expense).

Then, it's onto the famous Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge. On arrival, conquer your fears and walk tentatively across the rickety bridge suspended 100 feet (30 meters) above the crashing waves of the Atlantic Ocean (own expense). If you’d prefer to keep your adrenaline levels stable, opt for a bracing walk along the coast instead.

Relax during the scenic journey back to Belfast, which passes the medieval Dunluce Castle, and bid your guide farewell in central Belfast.

Tour was excellent. Derek was an outstanding tour guide. The commentary was witty and amusing. Everything ran pretty much well to schedule. We were 10 minutes late on return due to 4 passengers overstaying their time in the pub at the Giant's Causeway

A great day out, Derek was our driver, he was a great craic and had endless amount of knowledge, a girl left her camera behind and he turned back for her to retrieve it, we thought that was very good of him, it's a full day trip with plenty of walking, make sure you wear comfortable shoes but well worth the experience
