WOW!!!! Such a perfect day in every way!!! We were picked up by the most adorable Lisa for our trip to Cuandixia. We hit it off with her from the beginning and knew we would have a fun time with her. The drive to the village was about 2.5 hours but was such a nice change going in to the mountains. It was clear and blue and so different than being in Beijing. Beautiful change of scenery! We walked through the charming village with Lisa and were able to look inside the homes for a first hand view of how people there live. We met many of the locals and they all wanted us to join them for lunch. So sweet and warm and welcoming! Just wonderful people! We finally joined a family for lunch and they made anything in the US billed as Farm to Table seem silly!!! They literally picked the vegetables from their gardensand the other delicacies we as fresh as can be and prepared and delivered them to our table. The food just kept coming. And it was some of the best we have ever eaten!!! Such an amazing experience and getting to share it with Lisa and our driver Mr. Yung was an added treat. We ate and ate and played silly games with bottle caps with Lisa. Mr Yung disappeared for a minute and brought me back Buddha praying hands carved by a local artisan. I will cherish his gift forever! This was our last day in Beijing and to say we said goodbye in the most memorable way is an understatement. Lisa is amazing and we would highly recommend her and the kind Mr.Yung to everyone. It will be a day we will remember forever!
