Departure Time

8:30 AM
Start your day with early morning pickup at your Beijing hotel and travel in a private air-conditioned vehicle to the Juyongguan section of the Great Wall.

Built in a key strategic area, the Juyongguan section connects the interior with the northern border region. Have two hours to discover the military installations, watch towers, official residences, temples, and other structures along this part of China's monumental wall.

Stop for lunch at a local restaurant, then move on to the Ming Tombs, the elaborate burial complex for 13 of the 16 Ming Dynasty (1368–1644) emperors. Visit the Ding Ling Palace — the tomb of Emperor Zhu Yijun and his two empresses, which features a large marble vault with the original thrones. Your guide also shows you the Spirit Way, a path lined with stone pillars and statues depicting animals such as lions, camels, elephants, and horses.

Your tour ends with hotel drop-off in Beijing in the late afternoon.

Stop At:
Dingling Underground Palace
After lunch (included), move on to the Underground Dingling Palace, part of the 13 Ming Dynasty Tombs complex.
Duration: 1 hour

Stop At:
Ming Tombs (Ming Shishan Ling)
13 Ming Dynasty Emperors were buried in this area. You will visit Dingling and the tomb of the Wanli Emperor, which is the only one of the Ming Dynasty Tombs to have been excavated. Scared Path will be the last program before you finish this tour. The path stretching for 800 meters north of the pavilion is lined with stone pillars and statutes. The statues include 12 figures of generals and civil officials and 24 animal figures -- lions, camels, elephants, unicorns and horses. There are 4 of each of these animals: two standing and two lying down. These lifelike and exquisite stone statues are of very high cultural and artistic value and constitute a museum of Chinese stone carving. After the tour you will be transferred back to your midtown hotel in Beijing.

Such an amazing tour! Lily picked us up at our hotel and gave us some history on the way to the Wall. We hiked up two different spots on the wall before heading to the Sacred Path and Ming Tombs. Lily was flexible to allow us to go more quickly as we only had the two of us. We even got in a few other pics at attractions on the way back to the hotel. I would highly recommend this tour! A
