Palau de la Música Catalana , C/ Palau de la Música, 4-6, 08003 Barcelona, Spain

Depending on the size of the group and the traffic restrictions on the day of the tour, your tour will finish back at the office, or in Placa Catalunya, which is an easy 3-5 minute walk from the office.

Climb aboard a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle at a centrally located pickup point in Barcelona, and admire the picturesque Catalan countryside as you travel toward your fist stop, the ancient city of Girona. Listen as your guide regales you with tales dating back to Girona’s 76 BC origin, and then embark on a tour of the medieval metropolis’ rich architectural tableau.

During some leisurely free time, see the great Cathedral, founded in 1038 on the site of a former Mosque, admire the spectacular Roman walls that defended the city from attackers, or travel back in time at one of Girona’s comprehensive museums.

Return to the vehicle and then head to Pals, a small city that grew from the foreboding fortress at its center. Continue to the charming fishing village of Calella de Palafrugell, and gaze at the dramatic hillside scenery as you travel past Begur, site of ancient castle ruins.

On arrival in Calella de Palafrugell, relish the picturesque tableau of whitewashed houses and pristine sandy beaches, and set off to explore the rugged coastline. Sink your toes into the soft sands of the beach, take a dip in the refreshing waters of the ocean, or absorb the botanical beauty of the cliff top gardens at Cap Roig.

Reconvene with your guide and group at a prearranged time, and relax during the journey back to Barcelona, where your tour concludes.

Great trip

The trip covers 3 main stops. Girona, coast brava and another 3rd quick stop. The 3rd stop is not magical as the first 2 stops. Highly recommended.

Beautiful sites yet poor timing for visits in a larger group.
Vanessa_A
, Jun 2022
Although this itinerary was very good, the experience could of been improved. We signed up for a small group and had 20 people on the tour. Which is a rather large group. Therefore the guide moved from place to place with his talk not necessarily waiting till we all gathered and much was lost on walking tour. It would of been improved also by going to Girona in the am when it was not as hot and shops were open, and costa brava in the afternoon when more restaurants were open and then a dip in the sea before going back to Barcelona.

Hello, I want to thank you for sending us your review. We value every single piece of feedback we get and we always try to improve our tours where we can. First of all, I am sorry if the amount of people on the tour exceeded your expectations. Sometimes, we have customers who have missed their tour the previous day or arrive on the wrong day and we do our very best to accommodate them. This can push the total number up unexpectedly. However, we always ask out guides to spend time with every single person on the tour to give them individual attention. They certainly should have waited until all of the group were together before explaining anything. The reason we do the tour in this order is so that we easily find space in one of the beachside restaurants. If we went to Girona first, we would arrive on the coast at about 2pm and at this time of year it would be impossible to get a seat. Also by going to the coast first we have a chance to avoid the crowds. In Girona, most of the tour is done in the shade, and the shops are all usually open when we are there. Finally, the drive back to Barcelona is only about an hour, and it's a much quicker drive than from the coast. We will certainly remind the guides about waiting for the whole group, and we will look again at our timings. Thank you, Robert

This day trip from Barcelona was 10/10. Our tour guide was so knowledgeable and took us to the most beautiful cities we would never have seen or known about! The little bit of history plus time to explore on your own in each place was perfect. This was my favorite day on my trip in Spain!

A tour worth recommending

Excellent tour that starts not too early in the morning. Places visited were lovely. Xavier, the tour guide spoke clearly in perfect English, very knowledgeable and accommodating. His announcing our arrival in a location 5 minutes earlier was helpful enabling us to get ready in time. Xavier was excellent. Our driver Marcelo was also good. Will definitely recommend.

Fun Day - 25 May 2022
Nidale_T
, Jun 2022
We started our tour a bit late as Cam (Camillo), our tour guide, had to change the bus since the initial one was dirty. We had some rain on that day so we started with Girona (A must see), then went to Calella de Palafrugell (beautiful) and last Pals (it was ok). Cam was very friendly and provided great knowledge about the spots we visited. We had an enjoyable day overall. Our only recommendation is to make Girona longer in terms of visit time by maybe removing Pals.

An AMAZING experience. My favorite part of our Barcelona journey! Our tour guide provided us history in the three towns but we still had free time to explore on our own, swim in Costa Brava, eat some local food, and wander the streets of Girona.

Nice towns to visit along the Costa Brava
Kirk_F
, Jun 2022
We were very unlucky that our first stop, Pals, was experience torrential rainfall - some of the hardest rain I've seen, so unfortunately we had to wait out much of the trip trying to stay dry. Too bad because the town was gorgeous. The next stop Calella de Palafrugell was very relaxed and picturesque and we had a good amount of free time there. Enough to get lunch and take photos along the beach and coast. Last stop Girona was also a nice amount of time and the city is quite nice. Our guide was great - very funny and kept things interesting even in the rain. Recommended tour.

Hello, Thank you so much for the review. It's such a pity about the rain, but it looks like it did nothing to dampen your spirits! Thank you, Robert

Nice trip [Thanks, Arrnau!] but uncomfortable ride.
gul_a
, Jun 2022
Firstly , my apologies for giving this a three star. Our guide was good and we were looked after, and saw some awesome places. I got lost for 5 mins and our Guide Arrnau came immediately to look for me. Reason for giving it three stars: 1. The Van which was not supremely clean, was a small one for 8 people. At the very most, it should take 7 people. I think they didn't think that there might be fat people travelling. So, here we were, two fat people struck alongside the driver, who was our guide. That bit was quite uncomfortable. If you are fit and dont mind a small van, then its really ok. 2. In the morning while packing, I almost took my swimming suit and towel and then decided against it. You will most certainly not have time to take a dip in costa brava so please dont bother to pack any swimwear 3. Rest, the recommended food place [where we all had lunch together which was self paid] was really good. [Tony's] if I am not wrong. The landscapes and smaller towns that we visited were very pretty. I will probably tell my friends to take similar trips in tours who have couches.
icon Response from Host , Jun 2022
Hello, Thank you for sending us your feedback. This is so difficult to answer. The vans we use are purpose made to carry 8 passengers plus a driver. Yes, it is true that the two front seats are a little bit tight, especially if the passengers are a little on the big side. However, we always try to ask people to sit in seats that suit them best. You mentioned swimming in the sea. We have about 2 hours in the coastal village, which is plenty of time to have a quick swim. It's true that there is no time to spend hours on the beach, but most people have a swim, as well as lunch while they are there. I'm sorry that this tour did not meet all your expectations. Best regards, Robert

Nice day trip

Nice day trip out of Barcelona. The 3 stops; the medieval town, the beach town for lunch and Girona all gave a good sampling of Spain outside the big city. Xavier was a good guide - friendly, knowledgeable, and gave good advice on things beyond just our tour. A fair amount of driving (unavoidable, of course) was made bad by the vans broken A/C. I saw similar comments in other posts, so I wonder why this should be a continuing problem.

Hello, I just wanted to say how sorry we are about the AC not being that powerful. We have looked into and fixed the problem. Thank you, Robert

Enrique was an entertaining and informative tour guide. He was very friendly. We enjoyed our day and made the most out of it despite some light rain with one major downpour. We all took cover and waited 10-15minutes for it to pass. It was a very fun day! Costa Brava is beautiful and exploring Girona was wonderful!

My husband and I really enjoyed our day trip with Ray. He was really organized and focused on getting us to places with enough time to explore them. We loved seeing Girona and Pals but wish we had a bit more time at Costa Brava just because the weather was so nice!
