Perhaps meander around the medieval alleys of the Gothic Quarter; stop off to visit the extraordinary UNESCO-World Heritage-listed La Sagrada Familia church designed by the late, great architect Antoni Gaudi; or soak up the lively atmosphere, shops and street theater along the vibrant Las Ramblas.
Alternatively, hop off to visit some of Barcelona’s cultural hotspots or to take a stroll around Port Olímpic, the picturesque palm-dotted marina crowned by a giant copper fish sculpture by Frank Gehry. These are just a sprinkling of the many things you can see and do during your hop-off hop-on tour!
Your City Sightseeing pass gives you unlimited travel on all routes for your choice of one or two days. Buses depart from each stop regularly throughout the day. See the Itinerary for a list of stops on each of the routes.
Unfortunately due to the coronavirus our 2 day hop on hop off lasted only one day. The first day was great, we rode two of the three routes to get a lay of the land. The second day was going to see the sites closer. The company that ran it closed up shop on our second day. Everything in Barcelona was close. Anyway, what we saw was great and hopefully will be back next year.
Really enjoyed this HOHO. SO many sights to see and plenty of buses on which to see them. We never had any issues with our ear pieces not working. Would highly recommend as your first stop in Barcelona.
This is a cost efficient way to see the city being that on average a 15minute cab/uber ride cost about 12 euros. Buses were clean and the map was easy to follow. The only thing that could be improved on is maybe having the driver/ticket collector or even an automated machine announce the stops being that we weren't sure which stops we were at if you weren't constantly looking at the map.
Great way to get an overview of the city if you're pressed for time. In low season, you can do both red and blue tours back-to-back in about 3.5 - 4 hours, but the option to hop on and off is great for those photo opportunities and visiting those tourist hotspots. The on-board commentary is great too, although the cheap headphones don't always work and you may have to ask for another pair.
