PERFECT TIMING - Just missed the riots

We were very lucky that we scheduled our tour for Thursday 10/17/19, the day after we arrived in Barcelona. We almost scheduled it for Friday 10/18. As it turned out, that day was the general strike and everything was closed. On Friday,it was neatly impossible to go anywhere in the city due to road closures, The tour guide was great and provided excellent narratives and answers to questions about the city. We did a lot of walking, at a pretty good pace. My wife and I go to the gym, so it didn't bother us, but a couple of the our tourists were complaining about the pace. I guess it has to be pretty fast to fit everything in, If we hadn't taken the full-day tour on Thursday, we wouldn't have been able to see much, if any, of the city due to the unrest. Very happy we did.

Tour well led by Eduard our very knowledgeable guide. He took us to lots of places including the Gothic quarter, La Ramblas & Montjuic Hill. We ended up at the Sagrada Familia, an amazing church, a mix of old and new, not to be missed. Really enjoyable tour!

Great walking tour of Barcelona and La Sagrada Familia

The guide did a great job showing us around the city. He was very knowledgeable of La Sagrada Familia, which was helpful. Was a little disappointed that all the shops were closed (due to it being Sunday), but no fault of the tour company. We were grouped with people that were doing a full day tour (we could only do a half day due to cruise schedule). One suggestion I have is to allow the half day tour people eat lunch in the city, and then take them back to the port before going on to the other full day activities. I was a little disappointed that we didn't get a chance to eat lunch in Barcelona, and there would have been plenty of time. In addition, we were picked up very early, and then had to wait at the tour location for an hour - not sure why it was designed that way, but it was a wasted hour.

Well done tour of Barcelona

This was an all day tour of the highlights of Barcelona. A group of about 10 people. Primarily a walking tour, but bus transportation in between some spots. The guide was extremely informative and pleasant. We took the tour from a cruse ship, but others were staying at hotels. The tour company used taxis to pick us up and return us the the cruise ship, but service was flawless. could not have asked for a better introduction to this wonderful city.

Our tour guide Gloria was great. She was very knowledgeable and made sure to keep track of our group and really accommodated the people with us who struggled to walk and made sure we had bathroom breaks and places to sit. She also recommended places to eat and see after our tour was over.

Great walking tour of the old part of Barcelona and then got in the van to go to Sagrada Familia. We were so glad we took this tour and got to go in the church. What an amazing thing to see!! The last part of the trip with the drive to the Montjuic hill was ok. Tour guide gave a great recommendation for lunch where we had Paella and Sangria after the half day tour ended.
