Upon arrival in Ayutthaya, visit Wat Yai Chai Mang Khon, an active Buddhist temple where statues are decked in golden fabric, then continue to the Temple of the Reclining Buddha, whose massive centerpiece dates back to the early era of Ayutthaya.

Take in Wat Phra Sri Sanphet, the Royal Palace’s most holy temple, and light some incense near one of Thailand’s largest bronze Buddhas at Vihara Phra Mongkhon Bophit.

After a morning of exploring, pause for a lunch of Thai cuisine, then walk the grounds of Wat Mahthat, once an important Buddhist monastery, with a famed Buddha’s head that’s been wrapped in the roots of a banyan tree. Make a final stop at Bang Pa-In Palace, an elegant, riverside retreat once used by the Siamese kings, where a palace, throne room, and pavilion are surrounded by manicured grounds.

Following your time at Bang Pa-In Palace, this tour concludes with return transfer to your accommodations in Bangkok.

This was a fantastic tour option, it was worth the extra money. We opted out of visiting the Grand Palace to visit the ancient city of Ayutthaya. I definitely recommend doing this tour instead of the Grand Palace if you only have time for one. Our driver and our tour guide, Mrs. Aey were amazing! They were completely attentive, full of knowledge and very polite. We visited probably around 5-6 temples with numerous structures and things to see. Water was provided throughout the trip and we had a nice buffet lunch. Mrs. Aey even volunteered to take photos of us. The vehicle we toured in was very clean and new, and the drive was not bumpy and very comfortable.

Fantastic tour

My wife and I booked this tour at the last minute late at night and were so glad we did. The following morning we were met promptly at our hotel by our tour guide called Siri. She was a Thai lady who could communicate very well in English and was well organised and very pleasant. Following a 1 hour drive, which included a planned comfort break we visited all the key sites in Ayutthaya which were visually breathtaking. Throughout the day our tour guide Siri was very knowledgeable and informative and knew all the best spots for photo opportunities. The buffet lunch also provided was excellent with plenty of choice. Overall a fantastic tour not to be missed and our thanks to Siri for being so friendly and professional.

Hat, sunscreen and sunglasses are a must to enjoy your day. We especially enjoyed the summer palace and hearing the history of the ruins at Ayutthaya from our knowledgeable guide Ms A. We did have a little trouble understanding her soft voice, but she was more than willing to participate in our choices and level of activity in the high heat.

Overpriced private tour for couple

We are disappointed with the tour, as we expected a proper English speaking tour guide willing to share information about the sites that we were taken. What we get was more of a private taxi tour. Given the price we paid for this private tour for two (326 USD), it was not worth it for us. If we would have taken taxis or rent a car with driver for the day, we would have paid around a third. Keep in mind, the food and tickets are quite cheap, for two people it did not cost more than 25-30 USD. Please note, the company has cheaper prices on the website. At the moment the same tour with MAM Holidays on their site costs around 260 USD for two. The guide woman was nice, she tried to do her best (more or less), but the English level was quite poor. Maybe a bit too much to expect in Thailand?! The sites are nice, but this tour is way too expensive for what it advertises.

The tour was excellent! The guide was very knowledgeable, personable, and accommodating. We thoroughly enjoyed the day. We did book for 4 people, but only 3 were able to go. The guide, Sasa said that you would refund $125.00 tomy credit card. I have not received any information regarding this. If you could please email me at Schatz6@me.com with any details that I can supply you with to facilitate the refund. Again, thank you and Sasa for a wonderful day. Marilyn Schatz

The tour guide Aey was very knowledgable and was able to tell us the history of the place. Without the guide we would not be able to understand what we see. Thanks for letting us have a good time.
