Make your own way to the Outback Pioneer Hotel in Yulara (Ayers Rock Resort) in time for noon departure. After meeting your guide and group settle into your seats aboard an air-conditioned coach and soak up the scenery as you journey into the UNESCO-listed Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park.

Tuck into a tasty packed lunch (provided) on the way, then jump out to enjoy the first walk of the day, affording spectacular views of Kata-Tjuta (the Olgas) and the Walpa Gorge. Continue to the Aboriginal Cultural Centre to learn more about the local Pitjantjatjara people and the region’s rich Aboriginal heritage.

Next, head to the base of Uluru (Ayers Rock), where you’ll enjoy two walks – the Mala Walk, which follow the north-west side of Uluru and passes some impressive Anangu rock art, and a guided hike to the ancient Mutitjulu Waterhole.

Finally, watch the sunset over the sacred peak of Uluru as you sip a glass of Champagne and feast on a traditional Aussie-style BBQ dinner.

Your tour ends around 7pm, back at the Ayers Rock Resort.

PIcked up on time. Great canapes (gluten free), generous with the drinks, service great. For the sit down dinner, the food was plentiful, tasty with a good variety. Thanks to the chef!! The entertainment and service were fantastic!! Loved every minute. HIghly recommend.

Wonderful tour with EXCELLENT indigenous guide and pick-up from hotel in Ayers Rock Resort. Lots of snacks throughout the day, and great BBQ including plenty of wine. Only 2 disappointments: visit to Kata Tjuta far too short - 45-minute stop only long enough to reach the gorge and return, not to spend any time within it; and the 'sunset view' of Uluru ended abruptly at sunset, so didn't see the Rock grow dark (perhaps because the main tour bus had to drive back to Alice Springs, a 5-hour journey).

We really enjoyed this tour. Eddie the driver/guide was very good in story telling about the local legends. During summer, sunscreen and fly nets are a MUST. Water and snacks are provided along the way.

I really enjoyed this tour. Uluru and Kata Tjuta are spectacular! Eddie tried to accommodate us as much as possible by keeping the bus as cool as you can in 120 degree temperatures; he also offered snacks after every stop which were greatly appreciated! Our group was initially planning to camp overnight on another tour, but I thought this day tour and dinner were the perfect amount of time to see the sites.

We were a little disappointed in this tour as the time spent at Kata Tjuta was insufficient to walk to the gorge. We also did not stop to get a full view of the rock formation. The sunset barbecue at Uluru was good and the guide was very informative, especially when we walked around the Rock.
