Uluru Sunset & Barbecue dinner
DebraDee
, Apr 2021
The wonderful, rapidly changing colours at sunset were magnificent. The drinks & canapés were great, as were all the staff - friendly, informative & helpful. The outback BBQ - was OK. I understand that the experience would be diminished considerably if there was more lighting BUT there were a only couple of lights on a very long table -as we were sitting right at one end, we had absolutely no idea what was on our plates or what we were putting in our mouths. Despite that, the food was tasty & well cooked (rare steak included) once you’d worked out what it was. There was no lighting at all to guide the way to the toilets & no light in the toilets - thank goodness for torches on mobile phones. The staff again were fantastic- and the star talk was so interesting & delivered with great humour. I feel that a minimum amount of light ( before the darkness for the star talk) for safety purposes would have been beneficial. It was an interesting, if expensive experience. Thanks to all the staff.

Disappointed for the cost
A_W
, Apr 2021
This was extremely disappointing! Pre dinner drinks and nibbles at sunset was lovely. Star talk was wonderful. But food and drinks when seated by the rock was totally unacceptable! Plenty of meats which could not be faulted, but by the time our table was asked to get up to the buffet table for salads, the only thing left were the scrapings of coleslaw. Wines were also very slow to be poured. For $235pp, this was not up to scratch.

Great sunset poor catering portions
Mia_P

The sunset drinks were great. Well organized with plenty of nibbles. However I couldn’t rate it higher because when only half the group had eaten they ran out of garden potato and pasta salad. Very poor form for the price. Star talk was great.

Disappointed

Mixed messages in your advertising caused us to believe we booked a dinner under the stars with Canapes as the sun set over Uluru. We had cheese and crackers , sliced carrot and celery, crisp chips. No canapes. Then we found it was a BBQ with various salads under floodlights. The photos in the advertisement, we noticed, had candle lit tables in small groups giving an entirely different impression. We notice your clause, later, when we checked again after being very disappointed, that you cleverly covered your advertisement with a clause stateing " it may be different to the picture in the brochure" We would like to suggest that it is made clearer what you actually are providing. There was no Didgeridoo player either. We had the opportunity to see what was offered at Kings Canyon Resort as a dinner under the stars. Their setting was tables of two or four people. Fives courses starting with sparkling wine and canapes. A beautiful setting amongst trees and cost a lot less. We won't be recommending your dinner to our friends, Sheryl and Kevin Morgan

Had a lovely evening at the BBQ and Stars dining experience. Food was delicious and very well organised. Just a shame it was cloudy and never got to experience Uluru changing colour in the sunset. But we’ll worth going.
