Things I never knew about my own city!

A fantastic tour! I live in Austin and I never even knew about the horrible murders of 1885. It is an evening of true crime that you will not forget by the amazing host Jim Miles. You'll also learn about other people who have taken the tour that have roots in true crime -- your own connection could become a future part of the tour! The tour does start off with a bang (the telling of a grisly slaying), so prepare yourself. Walk the downtown streets of Austin and learn a part of history of this former cow town with dirt roads that many Austinites do not even know! (Also, I promise Shoal Creek will never be the same for you afterward!)

Jim is a great storyteller and shares the history of America's first known serial murders in a way that fascinates and yet is still respectful. Nice easy walk.

The guide (who owns the company) was a ton of fun. He is very knowledgable about Austin and the history of the murders, he draws you in with his stories, and he leaves you thinking for days! A great family experience (for teens and up).

Thanks so much for your review Tom! Really enjoyed hanging out with you guys and discussing true crime in Austin Texas. The mystery of the servant girl Annihilator is one that still haunts Austin for sure! When you walk the streets at night and visit the locations of the murders, 1885 doesn’t seem like all that long ago…. Come back and see us soon! Best, JM

Thanks for coming out Saturday night Rick! I had a blast with this group. It’s rare when you feel less like you’re leading a tour and more like you’re hanging out with friends :-) spread the word and come back and see me soon! Stay safe out there :-) Best, JM

Engaging and informative

The guide was engaging and knowledgeable. Would have been helpful to make sure the whole group was together before speaking and to stop at places without loud music. Maybe walk a little further down and then talk and point out the place. Overall though the info was good and we really enjoyed his presentation.

Thank you so much for your review. I’m glad you enjoyed the tour! Our tour is site-specific to the actual true crime events of 1885. Sometimes it’s a little loud but we feel it’s important to be on the exact spot of the events. Thanks again for coming out!. Best, JM

Best tour we took while in Austin! The owner/tour guide has you engaged immediately with his knowledge of the murders, and his passion for the subject. He not only covered the facts, but discussed all the different theories surrounding the murders. I won't go into detail so not to give anything away. I would not hesitate to take another tour with this company. Make sure you bring comfortable walking shoes. Tour lasted a little over two hours.
