Saved to wishlist!
After making your own way to the Austin Visitors Center to meet your shuttle, travel to Driftwood in Texas Hill Country. Enjoy time at each stop, trying some authentic Texas barbecue and tasting wines without worrying about your transportation.
The Salt Lick opened in 1967, and became nationally famous after its barbecue was heralded on the Travel Channel in 2008. Salt Lick Cellars planted its vines in 2006 and served up its first bottles of wine in 2008.
Fall Creek Vineyards was founded on a cattle ranch in 1975 and has become a leader in making the Texas Hill Country known as a wine region. The Duchman Family Winery opened in 2004 and has become known for its award-winning wine made from various grape varietals grown in Texas.
Drinks and food are at your own expense. Expect the tastings to cost between $6 to $25; the Salt Lick is cash only, but they do have an on-site ATM. Your tour ends with return to Austin in the mid-afternoon.
