Start your Maori-led tour of Auckland with pickup from your hotel. You’ll see Auckland — aka Tamaki Makaurau — from a Maori perspective as you’re immersed in New Zealand’s indigenous tikanga (culture) with your knowledgeable Maori guide. Your full-day sightseeing tour includes snacks, beverages and lunch.

Explore the city and its surroundings, including a short forest walk in the Waitakere Ranges, where your guide points out flora and fauna native to this region of the North Island. You’re driven along the rugged western coastline to stroll a black sand beach nestled below wind-chiseled cliffs.

Learn about the Maori leaders that helped shape New Zealand (Aotearoa — translated as ‘Land of the Long White Cloud’).

Also explore scenic Tamaki Drive, a coastal road that skims Waitemata Harbour. Your tour also includes a Maori cultural performance at Auckland Museum that includes the Haka war dance. Your small-group tour ends with hotel drop-off.

Our guide Sofia was one of the best we've ever had. She gave us so much information about the Maori history and language that brought the tour to life. The museum performance was a highlight, but really the whole day was wonderful.

Absolutely the BEST tour! Sofia was a real gem! We took this tour Me, twin 15 yr old daughters and we all agreed this is one of the best tours we have ever been on and we have done a lot of them!. Comfortable van with snacks!, amazing tour around including beaches, waterfalls and Maori legends/history, delicious lunch and gorgeous scenery. They even picked us up and dropped us off at our airbnb apartment! I would HIGHLY recommend this tour and Sofia, in particular!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our full day Maori Tour which included a cultural performance and lunch. Hinauri our very friendly and knowledgeable guide, ably assisted by Vanessa, were so very attentive and looked after us very well from the start to the finish of an eight hour day. We saw so many fantastic sights and spectacular panoramic views around the beautiful city of Auckland and at the same time learned so much about Maori history and culture. All in all a great day. Interesting, memorable and most importantly good fun. I have no hesitation in recommending this tour to anybody who wants to see as much of Auckland as possible but only has a limited of time. Thank you Viator and Time Unlimited Tours - we had a great time.

It was a really interesting way to see the city and learn about the culture. Sofia, our guide, was incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastic to share her culture and city. It was nice to see the cultural performance but we would have liked more time in the museum. The particular day we went we were a solid 30-35 years younger than all the other guest. The guide did a nice job to ensure everyone had a pleasant experience.
